Garden Inspired Wedding at Brooklyn Winery
Without fail, weddings at New York’s Brooklyn Winery stop us in our tracks. As one of the most unique and recognizable venues today, their weddings always pack a punch and are nothing short of inspiring. With Ashley Caroline behind the camera and Sprout taking the reins with floral design, this is definitely one for the books.
From the bride, Kaitlin: Taylor and I were looking for a location and a theme in the category of rustic, urban and romantic. We wanted it to be classy and casual so the location really allowed for that. With Taylor being a wine importer, aside from a wedding in Italy the BK Winery was the next best thing. We fell in love and moved in together while in New York/Brooklyn so even though we now live in Burlington, Vermont, it was really important for us to have the wedding in the amazing city of New York. The Wythe Hotel was where the bridal party and our families stayed and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay. The rooms are incredible and the views of the Manhattan skyline….!
We had a color scheme of light peach, off white and green. We had amazing support from family and friends for all the details of the wedding. There was these adorable chocolates from my mother in law at each place setting for the rehearsal dinner. My mother helped with the little details like napkins with our initials and my aunt made the seating chart.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Simplify, don’t over-think it and really try and enjoy the moments with friends, family and the love of your life, it all goes by way too quickly 🙂

Wedding Music:
Processional: “Hoppipolla,” Sigur Ros (performed by Vitamin String Quartet)
Recessional: “Triangular Daisies,” Rubblebucket
Newlywed Entrance: “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody),” Talking Heads
First Dance: “Re: Stacks,” Bon Iver
We had fun with the “waiting music” what played while everyone got seated before the wedding: it was songs like Heaven Beside You by Alice in Chains, Forty Six & Two by Tool (the acoustic version) we closed out the wedding with the last song All of My Friends by LCD Soundsystem.
From the photographer, Ashley Caroline: Kaitlin and Taylor’s wedding was full of charming personal touches influenced by Brooklyn, their first home together, and Burlington, Vermont, their current home. The Brooklyn Winery was the perfect venue with reclaimed wood walls and hanging green plants adding natural elements to the venue. Kaitlin stunned in her strapless lace gown with a single white flower in her low chignon updo. Their stationary was pressed with deep green embossing and the florals had a perfect blend of natural garden blooms consisting of ranunculus, succulents, garden roses and more. Each flower differed from one another adding interest to the eye from every corner. The bridesmaids wore pastel yellow and peach dresses in different styles that playfully flowed in the wind. We took pictures on the Wythe Hotel’s private balcony overlooking Manhattan and walked to the Brooklyn Winery, stopping for pictures along the way. We took photographs in front of a colorful brick wall with the word, “FIREWORKS,” written above the bride and groom and it could not have been more fitting. The Brooklyn Winery sunroof and bistro lights lit up the room full of long wooden farm tables decorated with mismatched china, succulents, candles and bottles of flowers. The guest’s names were individually scripted on a tag attached to their favors, Vermont maple syrup. It was a perfect day!
