Easy Holiday Tables by Alisa Lewis Event Design
With one week to go till Christmas, Alisa Lewis Event Design team is coming to the rescue to those who haven’t planned their holiday tables yet. Using supplies you may have already own and creating centerpieces with flowers from grocery stores, Alisa and her team is showing us how to style a table in four different ways, all captured by Park Road Photography by Sarah Elle.
Table Design 1: Non-Floral
If this design were to be used for a winter wedding, it is a great and affordable alternative to floral centerpieces. All of these items are common to the northwest and many of you may even have them around your house!
Table Design 2: White on White
All of these greens and flowers were found at local stores like Fred Meyer and Costco. The privet berries were ordered from a local florist but are native to our area as well as the cedar and balsam pine trimmings. We topped off the look with gold mercury votives, gold flatware, and linen napkins tied with cinnamon sticks. For a wedding, this look can easily be achieved by planting any seasonal bulb, flower, or herb in a variety of clay or cement vessels then accented with wildcrafted greens, pines, and berries native to our area.
How cute is Alisa’s baby?
Table Design 3: Crimson Roses in Black Lantern
We used a black lantern from the Attic‘s inventory as the center of this centerpiece design. Crimson spray roses were a the pop of color and compliments by the warm blue privet berries, seasonal greens, and white flowers. All of these items were obtained from local stores like Fred Meyer and Costco but many can be wildcrafted from our native surroundings in the winter time. We accented the warm crimson and blue with soft silver votives and flatware. The soft napkins were adorned with one sprig of privet berry for a pop of color on the plates.
Table Design 4: Farm Table with Garland
A long farm table from the Attic’s inventory large enough to seat 12 guests was the base of this last table design. We paired it with the new cross-back chairs from Event Rents. A natural linen runner with a cedar garland from Costco spread the whole length of the table. We then tucked in more privet berries, gold dusted pine cones, seasonal white flowers from Fred Meyer, and gold mercury votives. In the center of the table we used a rustic lantern surrounded by various antler sheds. This look could easily be achieved for a wedding or event using local greens, seasonal flowers, rustic lanterns, and antlers any time of year.
