Intimate Garden Wedding

Erin and Dan wanted an intimate, back-to-basics wedding with the people they love the most. They hired Going Lovely to design and coordinate their day at a gorgeous outdoor garden setting at Barndiva. It was their second wedding to both of bride and groom, so they wanted a celebration that represented both of their personalities. Erin is a horse a trainer and Dan is a scientist. They combined equestrian elements with test tubes and beakers, along with their shared love of wine for a fun wedding captured by Kirsten Julia Photography!

Dan surprised Erin with a beautiful Art Deco vintage engagement ring this past Christmas morning. They considered doing an intimate ceremony, just the two of them, since they had both been married before, but decided to include family and friends in the festivities since this would be their ‘forever’ wedding and it should be celebrated with those they love.

Erin is a horse trainer by morning and scientist by day. Once we looked at Barndiva in Healdsburg, we knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding. Not only was it in the heart of wine country – perfect for two wine lovers, but it had the perfect amount of rustic and charming details sprinkled throughout the property. We decided to stay true with the equestrian theme and utilized horse shoes for escort cards and table identifiers. For the centerpieces, we found vases that had a ‘test tube/beaker’ feel to go with Erin’s scientist background. We also designed a special ceremony backdrop to highlight the importance of this being their ‘forever’ wedding.
