Perth Vineyard Wedding

Romantic Weddings

Photos by:

This Aussie wedding from Jen Regan of Anna Rose Photography features a color palette we’re currently crushing on: red and purple. Newlyweds Natalia and Flynn decided on a day that was relaxed and personal, with a touch of handmade charm and vintage whimsy. Personally, I’m a tad bit obsessed with Natalia’s vintage-inspired gown by Anaessia

From the bride, Natalia: We envisioned something that said us. Red and purple, a dash of black, a sprinkle of buttons, a little bit of vintage and handmade made with feeling. Simple and unique, all in a big pot together. We wanted it to be a relaxed, open and inclusive day where everyone could mingle, feel involved and loved.

Our friend Anne Farrell arranged the decorations for us, she collected white vases, jugs and teapots from op-shops for the flowers and painted a few interesting glass jars white with the flowers pre-arranged by Kate Faulds. Anne also made the seating chart and place cards, small chalk boards for the place cards and a large chalkboard for the seating plan. She borrowed hand dyed, red doilies from a friend as well as collecting a few from op-shops.

Our rings were made by Will Francis who also did Natalia’s engagement ring. Flynn’s best man was a jeweller in Perth who suggested Will as he liked his style. On the sly over a series of phone calls, emails and horrible sketches by Flynn and some much more intelligent ideas from Will, the engagement ring was created. A ruby carved into the shape of a button on a band of white gold in the shape of a needle, held together with rose gold thread. Going above and beyond and working under time constraints, Will made out of silver and an actual button (purple) from a friend’s collection a wonderful and quirky temporary engagement ring for Flynn to propose with while in the snow in Boston. For the wedding rings Will created a large needle made of Damascus steal with gold thread for Flynn and a plain white gold band in the shape of a needle for Natalia.

Ombre Austin Wedding

Garden Weddings

Photos by:

Haleigh and Collin’s wedding takes one of our favorite trends, ombre, and brings it to a whole new level. With the professional expertise of Sweet Sunday Events and photos by Al Gawlik, no detail went overlooked, from the incredible hanging paper centerpieces to the stunning ceremony altar installation. Keep an eye out for one seriously spiffy ring bearer!

From Sweet Sunday Events: What can one do with paper and a sewing machine? Ohhhh, let me count the ways! Old books turned into paper strands bunched and stacked, some were also sewn together to create new and fun textures. All together the old books created a lovely and dramatic centerpiece hanged impeccably from the center chandelier. Classic cardstock was added as a pop of color mixed in the book strands and pink ombre bunting draped to the outside chandeliers just perfectly above the guest tables during the reception. Coffee filters were dyed and turned into ombre flowers at the hand crafted ceremony arch and cake backdrop.

OH!, let’s not forget the gorgeous tabletops. Painter’s gauze was ombre dyed and gathered in the center of the tables. Gorgeous milk glass vases were painted gold and held white hydrangea, beautiful garden roses, ranunculus, fever few and fern. Haleigh {our super sweet bride} collected over a hundred mismatched vintage napkins, painted mini clothes pins that just pushed the level of sweet overboard. Seriously, between us {Sweet Sunday Events} and the bride, not one detail was overlooked. It was clear the guests were incredibly thrilled with the soiree as they danced the night away and ended the night with a ribbon send off for Haleigh and Collin with a Tiff’s Treat in hand!
