Wisconsin Farm Wedding

Melissa and Mike’s Wisconsin wedding shot by Melissa Schollaert incorporates some of our very favorite motifs — classic glamour, fresh florals, and the occasional horse. One of the sweetest details of the day? A thank you note to all guests: “You are our teachers, partners in crime, guides, and favorite people in the world.” Aww!

From the photographer, Melissa Schollaert: Melissa and Mike’s wedding was held at a family farm in central Wisconsin. The location was beautiful and housed several old barns and fields for the horses. Melissa & Mike chose a vintage aesthetic using heirloom items throughout their day. First, guests were greeted in the main barn with cucumber water & pink, raspberry lemonade and antique cheese crate containers (we were in Wisconsin after all) holding programs.

The bride & groom also crafted a DIY display of old window frames & suitcases to hold cards & gifts, along with a display of vintage press print letters that spelled out “Bovee”, the groom’s last name. The guests were also treated to handmade candy in old glass containers, as well as a “thumbprint” tree in an old frame to sign for the bride & groom to hand on their wall in their home.

The bride and groom crafted many other DIY items for the wedding including hand-making all of the custom napkins for the guests, crafting all of the table number signs made from old wine bottles, as well as crafting each centerpiece display in old vessels & bottles. The colors were green & tan, along with creams & whites. The florals in the brides bouquet & bridesmaids bouquets were ranunculus, olive branches/leaves, white garden roses, anemones & succulents.
