Indie Canadian Wedding

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I just got back from Jamaica last night, and I am still swooning over the crystal clear waters. I can’t wait to share photos of it with you all. So I am starting the week with a beautiful beachfront wedding all the way from British Columbia, Canada. Alison and Ryan’s wedding is a DIY festival full of sweet details. Alison mentioned she has been “following Ruffled for the past 2 years since I’ve been engaged”, which makes my heart full of glee! Shot by photographer Jamie Delaine.

From Alison, the bride: We wanted our wedding to be vintage-inspired, yet contemporary. We wanted it to feel as though we had found all of our decorations in our grandparents attics/basements and thrown in what modern elements we had lying around our homes. We wanted to add our personal style and touch to as many elements as possible so our guests would feel as though this truly was OUR wedding.

This is so amazing! We are thinking about getting married on the Sunshine Coast next summer – where was your ceremony? I love the setup. That’s not Bonniebrook Lodge, is it?

Hi Em! Thank you so much for your comment, i would definitely recommend the Sunshine Coast for a wedding! :) Our ceremony was held at our family cabin in Roberts Creek! We then headed over to the Bonniebrook Lodge for the reception! The Bonniebrook does do ceremonies as well, and they have a beautiful waterfront piece of property across from the lodge where they host ceremonies!

Hi Melissa! Sorry for the late reply! Thanks so much for your kind words! Sorry to disappoint, but I’m not going to be selling my dress, and my sister-in-law is going to keep her minty blue Sarah Seven as well! Best of luck to you! Cheers!

I’ve come to this site time and time again… Alison, you looked absolutely stunning! I was hoping you could tell me whether you purchased your dress in Canada or if you had to go online or to Sarah’s store. I’m getting married next fall in Alberta and despite some of the not-so-pleasant reviews, Sarah’s dresses are a must-have for me. I’m not a fussy bride so I just wanted a short and sweet experience in finding “the dress.” Thank you for any help!
