Vintage Hawaiian Wedding, Part II

Vanessa from Lollipop Events and Designs shares how they designed the reception and more brilliant details on this beautiful Maui wedding…

The bridal bouquet made out of bleached peacock feathers added drama and high fashion flair to the brides stunning strapless gown. We incorporated the bleached peacock feathers of the bridal bouquet into the event design by placing a feather at each table setting upon a brightly colored pineapple brocade printed napkin, hand sewn with ivory fringe. Flowers were placed in various shaped mercury vessels amidst tall candelabras. Soft peach and pink peonies seemed to float above the silvery mercury vases, which contrasted off of the hand dyed aqua hued table runners.

The Diamond Willow created the custom feather bouquet and flowers were from Dellables Florist in Maui. Photos by Christie Pham Photography.

Before entering the ceremony area guests were greeted by a table draped in a soft pink couture linen covered with bubbly filled champagne glasses for guests to sip on during the ceremony. Perched next to the glasses was a sign that said “champagne kisses”.

I so LOVE bleached peacock feathers and think it was a brilliant use to tie in the couple’s request but keep it in more beach-appropriate colors! I think it really reflects the feel of the sand and rocks. Um, totally LOVING that ombre table runner! Wow, what a stunner of a bouquet! I don’t think I’ve ever seen super-long tail feathers like that, what an awesome way to incorporate them.

I am loving the drawer full of pave flowers on the champagne kisses table… that would also be a cute idea for an escort card display!
