Tennessee Farm Wedding

Nothing brightens our day like a gorgeous wedding paired with an endlessly smiling bride and groom, and that’s what we have in Adam and Carmen! Ulmer Studios captured this couple’s infectious happiness on their big day in Franklin, TN, complete with innovative handmade and vintage details tackled primarily by the bride and her bridesmaid. We just adore Carmen’s Time Capsule idea!

From the photographers, Josh and Amber Ulmer: Adam and Carmen had a gorgeous southern farm wedding at Southall Eden. Carmen, her bridesmaids & her planner, Jennifer Hamilton of Mr & Mrs Events both worked hands on together to create all of her fabulous details.

Carmen wanted a very undone/natural feel to her flowers so we went to Import Flowers and picked out lots of colorful wildflower bunches, lavender (most important to the bride), garden roses, hydrangeas and lots of greenery. The day before the wedding, Carmen and the bridesmaid’s went to Jennifer’s house and we worked cutting and arranging flowers and making the bouquets for a few hours before the rehearsal. I LOVE the lavender that we used in Carmen’s bouquet… really gave it a whimsical feel.

Time Capsule Activity – this was set up at cocktail hour and made by Carmen. Different colors and designs of paper were set out for guests to write advice etc… to the couple. I believe they’re going to wait 10 years to open the box and read all the notes.

The time capsule is an awesome idea. How lovely 10 years from now to open it and read all the messages from friends and loved ones!

Alessandra, for the table #’s I just got wooden numbers from the craft store and wrapped them with twine, hot gluing as I went along. ;)

Wow. What a gorgeous wedding. We haven’t been to Tennessee in a couple of years, since we went to Chattanooga and Raccoon Mountain. However, we loved the state and we love farm weddings, so this is pretty much our ideal state of things. We’re particularly fond of barns, so this will probably inspire a fair amount of our future work. Great job you two.

My husband and I used Iron Horse Properties for our wedding in Crested Butte, CO. We were married in an awesome rustic lodge. Iron Horse properties and Crested Butte were beautiful and romantic. We stayed in a cozy cabin with a fireplace and a hot tub. Our families had a huge lodge all to themselves. It had a pool table, hot tub, 7 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and 3 master suites! We had personal chefs and the food was top notch. Our concierge made sure we were happy and planned some awesome activities for us and our families. We even went on a Dogsled tour! The prices are reasonable. We got FREE ski rentals while we were there and our last night was free. Iron Horse has specials all the time.
Our family and friends were comfortable in the Iron Horse rental properties. My husband and I will definitely be going back to stay at the Iron Horse in Crested Butte, CO. We are thinking about making an annual anniversary trip to Iron Horse. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Iron Horse at Crested Butte, CO., and recommend it as an awesome wedding destination. We went in the winter, but Iron Horse and Crested Butte is also a great place to go in the summertime. We cannot wait to go back to Crested Butte. Sigh!!

This is such a beautiful wedding! I love everything, specifically the photographers eye. Just witnessing the moments they were able to catch of this lovely couple made my heart beat faster about my own wedding just a month away. I’ve been crazy busy in all the fuss and looking across these pictures somehow helped calm the static and remind me of God’s providence. Thank you for sharing your beautiful day. I can’t wait to post the photos from our Alabama farm wedding. (P.S. there are so many similarities between your big day and what we plan to do for ours…I hope ours is as wonderful.)
