Tall Timber Barn Wedding
Not only is Amanda one heck of a cute bride, she’s also part of the amazing team of photographers that make up Love Me Do Photography. Naturally, she had fellow photographers Nadine and Carina shoot her wedding day, and we’re tickled to be sharing it! John and Amanda had a Quaker style ceremony, with a reception on the sprawling grounds of Tall Timber Barn to follow, complete with a pig roast and an endless supply of craft beers.
From the bride, Amanda: John and I got married this past August 18th at Tall Timber Barn in the Poconos. We decided on a Poconos wedding immediately as that is where we got engaged and a favorite place to visit. The barn turned out to be perfect because John really wanted lots of different places for guests to hang out, there was the barn, two firepits and another smaller building with couches. Once we decided on the barn, everything else just fell into place. We always wanted a pig roast, and for Boris our bulldog to be involved in the wedding.
Remember when we pinned these shoes?
There were a few vendors I’ve worked with an loved, so that was easy, plus I have amazing talented friends. My good friend Whitney makes little animal head pins and we thought they went with the venue (lots of taxidermy) so we used those as boutonnieres. John’s whole family are serious canoe-ers, so we snagged one of their canoes to fill with canned craftbeer. Since we had a ton of canned beer, it only made sense to get custom beer koozies for favors. I started buying old Poconos postcards from the area/town we were in and used them for signage and the photobooth.
We started collecting artists mushrooms on hikes and used those for table numbers. Our friend Drew is a brewer at Flying Fish and he brewed us a special toasting beer. My good friend Ben makes the best bbq sauce, so he made a bottle for each table (label is a photo of Ben silhoutted with a poconos scene). His wife Katherine designed us a print that is on John, David, and Boris’s (our dog) ties. Most of the rest of the details I made, including the macarons, and flags. The ceremony was Quaker style with John’s sister officiating.
