This vintage glam wedding captured by Jennifer Sosa for Daniel Krieger is a phenomenal practice in Old Hollywood chic. Nearly all the decor was sourced by the bride, who co-owns the antique shop Beekman Lane in New Jersey. Bride Lori and her new husband Hans incorporated aspects of the 1920s for a warmly unforgettable wedding day.

From the bride, Lori: Hans and I both met while working in the antiques industry in Manhattan. We wanted to combine our love for antiques and bygone eras and our love for each other. We knew we wanted to incorporate actual antiques in our day, and a venue that was authentic and warm. We decided upon the 1920s because the decade had an over-the-top elegance and romance.

The moment you walk into the theatre you are transported to another time. The theatre has such rich golds and maroons, that we wanted to keep the colors of the flowers and tables in a creamy off-white mixed with golds and metallics. We wanted the silverware to be gold, and we chose an amber waterglass to warm the table. All the antique brass/silver and copper vessels for the centerpieces were sourced by me and my business partner at my interior decoration studio and antiques shop, Beekman Lane.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? My advice would be to make sure you take your time to chose the right vendors for you and your style. I took a long time to find the right caterer because good food was important to us, as well as presentation. Jonathan at David Ellis understood our vision and used his talent to execute a flawless menu and presentation- we are still still receiving compliments constantly on the food and the talent of our band, Carte Blanche. We had gone through many vendors who tried to persuade us to do what they wanted rather than listening to what we were looking for. All of the vendors we chose in the end were great about listening to what we wanted and our vision and used their talent and knowledge to execute what we were looking for, which resulted in the wedding of our dreams.

Speakeasy Wedding Tablescape + Downloads!

There are few things we love more in the wedding world than Old Hollywood Glamour inspiration, and that’s just what we’ve got for you today from the endlessly talented folks at Hey Look. This table runner is easy to make in a snap, and we’ve even got editable menus and place cards for you to whip up at home! We’ll let the ladies from Hey Look take it from here:

For the tablescape we made table runners from striped fabric that we tore into table runner sized strips, then simply folded over the sides neatly, added some fabric glue and ironed over to fix the seams.

The centerpieces are made of old, rusty tins brushes lightly with gold paint, golden spray-painted vases and an old cigar box. We went for the classical dark red floral theme, using big, velvety roses, dark calla lilies and carnations as filler flowers. You could also add some smaller feathers or other classical flowers. Use some cigars for the table decor, lay out ostrich feathers or display them in high vases.

The place setting is simple: a neatly folded cloth napkin and a themed menu card. The name card attached to a mini bottle of sparkling wine or champagne serves as place card and favor tag at the same time.

Then open the pdf in Adobe Reader (download it for free from the Adobe page, if you don’t have it installed already), click the texts and fill in your own. Now just print on white card stock and cut out along the lines.

Old Hollywood Glam Wedding Inspiration

It’s no secret that we’re total suckers for Old Hollywood Glamour style. Mel and Steve of She-n-He Photography photographed and created the paper goods for this amazing styled shoot with the help of Zinnia and Company, Three Apples Events, and vintage chinaware from Antiquaria, this shoot is all about simple details for a maximum impact. The rich color palette has us daydreaming of a black-tie affair this afternoon!

From Melanie of She-n-He Photography and Design: We collaborated with Zinnia and Company on this luxurious black, cream, and gold shoot to inspire couples with upcoming winter weddings, but certainly the classic look can translate to anyone putting together a fabulous party to entertain!

And we found the perfect outfit for our party hostess: a stunning oh-so-couture gown covered in gold sequins. And a beautiful pair of red Lanvin heels to go with it (the only pop of red!). From the tablescape to the invitations to the cake table, everything was designed to fit into the theme; to play on black, cream, and gold; and to really evoke a feeling of romantic extravagance. Antiquaria provided the china for the table – sets of cream plates with gold rims, gold-accented tumblers, and beautiful gold-rimmed wine glasses. Gold candlesticks dotted down the tables, but instead of holding candles, we thought cream roses would look stunning filling the various heights by each setting. The main table arrangement was an enormous piece Zinnia and Company created with gold-painted magnolia leaves (which were also tucked into each napkin behind the silver-ware!) and clusters of cream roses in a beautiful black urn.

Inspired by Frank Sinatra’s “Put Your Dreams Away,” we chose The Vista on Seward Hill and wanted start to finish to be exquisite – everything in black, cream and gold, the epitome of a classic, lush dinner reception.

Glamorous 1930s Art Deco Wedding

Art-Deco weddings are inherently glamorous, but this wedding from Brian of Callaway Gable and Alexandra of Sterling Engagements takes glamour to a whole new level. The bride and her architect fiance themed their wedding day around travel and the 1930′s and the outcome is nothing short of stunning.

From the bride, Carrie: We love anything vintage from our own house to furniture to architecture. Michael is a LA history buff and enjoys learning about historical architecture of LA’s old beautiful buildings and Carrie also has an appreciation for such LA gems. Because of our love of historic buildings we knew we wanted to have our wedding at a historic place- Union Train Station and specifically the Fred Harvey Room Restaurant, was the perfect location for us. The architecture is gorgeous and because it is a symbol of travel, it suited us perfectly since we also love to travel. We have been to Ecuador, Mexico, many countries of Europe and backpacking throughout California.

My mother helped with many of the printed materials; she and her boyfriend made the “vintage punch train ticket” save the dates, art deco invitations, art deco menu cards and programs. We chose wedding attire that was close to the 30′s – 40′s. We had our guests sign vintage postcards instead of a guest book which were stored in an old cigar box and vintage suitcase. The escort cards, which were tickets to tables which were named for the countries that we had traveled to together and they were displayed in vintage suitcases that we actually have as decor in our house

We wanted to have international stations- Mediterranean, Asian, and Latin American cuisine- to go along with our travel theme. Also, we had time era signature drinks- Ramos Fizz and Basil Gin Gimlets during our happy hour. Our toasting glasses were my Nana’s. They are champagne glasses from the 1920′s.

From Alexandra of Sterling Engagements: I worked very closely with not only Carrie but also her mother Linda and they both were so detailed with every aspect of the day, there was not one element that was forgotten, every detail was covered and created extra special just for Carrie and Michael. It was so heartwarming to be a part of and execute on their behalf.

We had a blast at our wedding- dinner was fabulous and we wanted to make sure our guests had food that we enjoy to eat. While dinner was served guests listened to old classics such as Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong. We loved the backdrop of Union Station for our pictures as a we wanted our pics to look vintage. Our photographers did an awesome job styling our pictures and choosing the best shots. Our pictures and our day was amazing – romantic and glamorous.

Liz + Josh's 50's-licious Vintage Wedding

Loving this fifties-licious wedding! Shot by the fantastic duo Carina and Amanda from Love Me Do. Lots of great vintage finds on eBay, like their mailbox card holder, adorable cake topper and amber cake stands, it will get your spirits for vintage hunting going!

From the bride, Liz:

While we were dating, I introduced Josh to my favorite old black and white movies- with Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, etc- and he’s quick to admit that our many nights on the couch with popcorn fostered his love for classic films. When it came to our wedding, it seemed only natural to shoot for a very city, very old Hollywood feel. I’m sure you know that with a limited budget, that’s next to impossible! So, we kept it simple with a dessert and champagne reception at the church, and tried for that vintage vibe with some live jazz and antique touches. Knowing our financial limits and time constraints (6 month engagement!) really helped us zero in on what we could feasibly accomplish, and focus on doing that the best we could (instead of wasting time, energy and money on trying to do the impossible).

We incorporated a few vintage touches – like the cake topper, old mailbox, amber glass cake stands, and 1940′s engagement ring ads (all from ebay!). Handmade pieces included the cake and cathedral length veil (thanks, Mom!), silk bouquets with personalized cameos, and (another nod to days-gone-by) our guestbook of old family wedding photos.

“Our song” is Sparks, by Coldplay, so we finished the day with a sparkler-lit exit. A little sign by the vases of sparklers had the lyrics, “I saw sparks.” I slipped into a vintage ivory minidress (ebay again!) and birdcage veil, and we raced out to our getaway car, a 1940 Chevy Super Deluxe. In the end, our wedding didn’t feel kitschy or themed. Just sort of classic and personal, like it reflected our taste for bygone eras.

Glamorous Bridal Headbands

These headbands are so Hollywood glam and beautiful, it’s hard to take your eyes off of them! Feathers, glitz and beads make them the perfect adornment for the va-va-voom bride, wouldn’t you say? The gold one in particular has won me over with pearls, sequins, crystals and beads all worked into a delicate piece! These beauties are the lovely work of Sheena Holland.

6 month anniversary – the ceremony

Our ceremony was short and sweet. It lasted only 15 minutes, but it was very emotional for us. We hired a musician to play acoustic guitar for our entrance songs. Bridal Party walked down the aisle to Dearest, by Buddy Holly. My processional song was Here Comes the Sun, by The Beatles and our recessional was “We’re going to be friends”, by White Stripes (very sweet lyrics and just the right beat for a recessional!)
