How can you go wrong with a good circus-themed wedding? Jagger Photography was behind the camera for a wedding filled to the brim with DIY projects, bold colors, and cakes from Beverly’s Best that tie everything together seamlessly. Truly, this beauty of a party wedding is jam-packed with great ideas, so let’s jump on in!

From the bride, Kady: We wanted a romantic feeling, but we also wanted a casual and fun environment. We wanted it to feel like a great party celebrating our love. Our wedding was inspired by a vintage circus theme. We loved the feeling of creating a canopy with lights and vintage parasols, while still enjoying the beauty of a rustic outdoor venue. Along with vintage circus elements, our color palette consisted of black and white stripes and bold jewel tones. Our theme lent itself to many fun DIY projects: center pieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, invitations, ceremony backdrop and the ring bearers pillow were all handmade. We also created many different stations that were heavily decorated with DIY projects, including our “souvenir table” (ie. favors) and our cigar bar.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Establish your budget early on and stay true to it. Decide what elements you’re willing to splurge on and book those vendors first. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You will have many people offer their services in one way or another – take them up on it! They wouldn’t be offering if they didn’t love you. We were very fortunate to have the amazingly talented SOS Entertainment & Jagger Photography in our family. We definitely lucked out having the DJ and photographer as siblings since those vendors were most important to us. The DJ truly sets the mood of the wedding and keeps the flow throughout the celebration. After months, sometimes years of planning, the day/night tends to fly by, details and candid moments get missed, so having an amazing photographer is key. It’s incredible being able to relive your special day, moments you may have missed and memories shared with your guests all thanks to your photographer! Last but not least… don’t lose sight of what the day is truly about… celebrating love.

Fun Museum Wedding

Real Weddings

It’s not a surprise that this wedding has become so popular over the past few weeks, given all the gorgeous details sprinkled throughout the wedding day. But the second I spotted our free desk calendar download, I knew I had to share it with you. It has a ton of fun and creative details, and every last one of them is personal to the bride and groom. Their stunning tree shadow ceremony backdrop, the silhouette logo that was created from one of their engagement photos, and those scrabble details, everything is simply adorable! Taryn and Owen’s unique and modern museum wedding was captured by Jagger Photography, and left me wanting for more. I had to get the 411 from the bride.

From Taryn, the bride:

From the very beginning we knew we wanted some different! Modern! Owen is an Artist and is from South Dakota. I love to Dance and I am from California. We wanted to combine a lot of multi media and bring out the best of both our worlds. We wanted to do things a little less traditional. We did not have a wedding party. We skipped out on bridesmaid dresses and gave our friends the jog of showing up and having a good time. It worked out great! We wanted to have a cocktail party that never ended.

To go along with the modern theme I choose Gravel Grey and Canary Yellow for my colors. Succulents are my favorite so we based the decor around plants and fruit. We wanted it to feel organic and original.

Vana of Le Papier Studio made the logo for our website, and the logo became a big part of the whole wedding. She made a silhouette out of one of our engagement photos taken by Baquet Photo.

I made all the scrabble items. I actually got the idea from an Urban Outfitter’s store in Hollywood, CA.

The Ceremony was very intimate like the inside of a theater. It was short, sweet and a little funny. The crowd loved it and the party began. Ceremony only lasted 10 min. and my best friends mother married us.

As we exited the ceremony to a rooftop cocktail hour we were surprised with the USC Trojan Marching Band. I was a USC song girl back in the day so it was PERFECT and the one of the best moments ever!

We had a Wedding Cake, but not the cutting. No need to stop the party, right? I heard there was no cake left it was so good!

Ok, the first thing we did when we got engaged was to buy the biggest dry eraser board we could find at an office supply store. I made rows for each 8 months I had to go. I filled the whole thing up and it really helped to SEE it up on the wall. Also, have a tasting with your caterer because even if you try, you will so having so much fun and not appreciate all the foods on your wedding day.
