Whimsical Oklahoma City Wedding

Ely Fair

The pure joy exuding from Ely Fair’s images of this Oklahoma City wedding simply jumps off the screen. This lovely couple opted to tie the knot at Plenty Mercantile, a versatile venue that hosted a rooftop ceremony and warehouse reception. Adorable, sweet and personal to the core, Leah and Brandon proved once and for all that sometimes the simplest details can make the biggest impact. Putting their own creative minds to work, these lovebirds collaborated with Tony Foss Flowers to incorporate both classic and exotic blooms into their big day. Garden roses, peonies, hydrangeas, ranunculus, astilbe, sweet peas and even peach stalk came to play in a bridal bouquet that knocked everyone off their feet. So, so much to love – see for yourselves!

Grab some tissues, cause this one is a stunner! Equal parts whimsical and sweet, this real wedding between the Winnie and Jose has us smiling from ear to ear. Posies in pink garnish an impressive twig arbor and bouquets of peonies, roses, hydrangeas and hypericum berries abound, thanks to the handiwork of Botanica Lifestyle + Design. Marin Kristine demonstrates a tremendous eye for detail as she gives each DIY element a bit of permanence in her dreamy photographs. Just look at those tea leaf favors with personalized calligraphy from the bride herself! Leave it up to Tan Weddings & Events to coordinate such a marvelous celebration.

Park Winters Garden Wedding - http://ruffledblog.com/park-winters-garden-wedding

From the bride, Winnie: Our wedding vision was romantic with a touch of vintage. We also included a traditional tea ceremony before the western ceremony. The tea ceremony was important for us because it was a way to show respect to our parents and older family members. We invited family and very close friends only. I wanted to keep it small and intimate and I wanted all guests to enjoy every single moment of the night.

Colorful Modern Southern Wedding

Romantic Weddings

Lilly Pulitzer was always known for throwing a party with a punch, and the same holds true for Tyler and Connor! We can’t wait to spill the juice on this whimsical North Carolina wedding, whose vibrant display of limes, lemons and oranges balanced with bright pops of pink are giving us major wedding envy. A peony-lover’s dream, The English Garden provided lush blooms in varying shades of pink to remind us that heaven is a place on earth, and Emily March Photography tells a wonderful story through her breathtaking collection of photos from the day. Abundant in gold, glitter, pineapples and confetti, this fabulous fete was fun and fancy free, and we can’t imagine a happier celebration. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the brilliance of A Southern Soiree to curate each detail, so be sure to read on and add more color to your day!

From the bride, Tyler: I envisioned a vibrant wedding, everyone having fun, just like a big party. My theme was Lilly Pulitzer; I have worked for the company and love everything about it. For my flowers I had peonies — they are my favorite and of course they had to be pink. Some advice I would give would be do not get stressed. Everything falls into place; it’s your wedding day have fun and enjoy it.

Intimate Nashville Wedding with a Blush Kimono Gown

Bohemian Weddings

Photos by:

Teale Photography

Not only is this bride’s blush pink kimono wedding gown a show-stopper in itself, it was an affordable find from ASOS! Mary Katherine and Matt had a day that was as nontraditional and eclectic as they are, with bridesmaids in all white and a guitar shaped wedding cake. The unbeatable combination of Teale Photography and Cedarwood Weddings did fantastic work on this one!

Eclectic Nashville Wedding with a Blush Kimono Gown - http://ruffledblog.com/eclectic-nashville-wedding-with-a-blush-kimono-gown

From the event planners and designers, Cedarwood Weddings: Mary Katherine and Matt raised the eclectic bar at their artisanal countryside Cedarwood wedding celebrating love, music and indie style. Mary Katherine and Matt wanted a colorful, unexpected and non-traditional take on wedding design. For starters: Mary Katherine wore an exquisite silk Kimono gown in the softest shade of blush, which she ordered online from ASOS! In a reverse from the norm, her bridesmaids wore white dresses, each one uniquely hand-picked for a mismatched but cohesive look. Guys wore their own versions of navy (jeans welcomed!) And the flowers… starting with blooms in the bride’s hair – the loveliest peonies and ranunculus – which also grace gorgeous, flowing-ribbon bouquets. And fresh, green garlands everywhere.

Mary Katherine and Matt met at a music festival and their eclectic style was studded with colorful, vintage glass, soft-colored blooms and of course, music. Because Matt works in the entertainment industry in tour production, he is well connected with artists, and gathered a group of musician friends to play reggae at their reception! We love Matt’s guitar-shaped groom’s cake, replicating his tattoo design (a surprise from his bride) and a tribute to the music that brought them together. Their lovely May Cedarwood Wedding celebration was impeccably photographed by Teale Photography, and we are smitten these images, and this day.

Garden High School Sweetheart Wedding

Garden Weddings

In our line of work, it never fails to warm our souls when we come across high school sweethearts. Newlyweds Chasni and Joshua couldn’t stop themselves from filling the day with little inside jokes, nods to their love for each other, and of course gorgeous visual treats for the guests in the form of the venue’s incredible Spanish moss. And did we mention Chasni’s Amsale wedding gown? Pinch me. Thank you to Virginia Ann Photography and Razzle Dazzle Event Decorating for your wonderful work on this day!

Garden High School Sweetheart Wedding

From the bride, Chasni: Of course when you start planning your wedding you want everything and Pinterest can definitely be at fault for that – LOL. I feel like the style I envisioned for our wedding was a mix between a shabby chic look along with boho touches here and there.

If I could best describe the look of our wedding I would say whimsical, elegant, and romantic. We didn’t have a theme but our color scheme was soft pinks, golds and ivory with touches of greenery everywhere! Oh and I’m such a DIY type of person, so with the help of my mother (and a few other family members) we tackled quite a few DIY projects throughout the wedding planning process. Some of the DIY projects included the wedding programs, our welcome sign, wedding invitations, the outdoor games – rings toss and cornhole boards, my bridal party’s jewelry – I made their necklaces and bracelets, “Here Comes the Bride” sign, my something blue keepsake garter with lace from my mothers wedding dress, and the list just goes on. My Dad is amazing and also helped with our DIY projects. He made me a palette coffee table that we used outdoors with a few other furniture pieces and it turned out great!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Start early! The earlier the better, I’m one of those brides that did everything early and it really helped me out as we got closer to the wedding. I got so many things out of the way, even the small things you tend to forget about. For instance, parents gifts, bridal party gifts, wedding jewelry and accessories. I even started buying a lot of my wedding decor early on. I started grabbing those things about a year before the wedding and even throughout the planning. So, when I started to get organized and pull out everything from storage a few weeks before the wedding, I realized I had so many decorations and I was able use them all over the wedding venue! It was perfect.

Processional: “Marry Me,” Train
First Dance: “Thinking Out Loud,” Ed Sheeran; “Island Girl,” Tribal Seed

From the photographer, Virginia Ann Photography: Chasni and Josh are high school sweet hearts which meant their day was full of so many “I know you so well” touches. From their gifts to each other at the beginning of the day, a pair of sunglasses for her since she loves the beach and an awesome watch for him since fashion is so much a part of his line of work as a stylist, to the little looks and laughs from inside jokes they kept whispering to each other during portrait time. Their bond was so clear. The venue, The Ranch at San Patricio, couldn’t have been more idyllic, full Spanish moss covered oaks swaying in the breeze surrounding the little white chapel with the sound of the water trickling by from the small brook just behind. Their color palette of blush, gold, and pops of navy made for a classic strong look against the organic green background. All eyes were on Chasni as she walked the aisle in her stunning Amsale bridal gown to her groom. This day was one for the books!

Moss-Filled Michigan Wedding

Romantic Weddings

If you’re looking to get inspired by a wedding with a stunningly clean and green wedding palette, Agnes and Jeff’s Michigan wedding is it. Shot by MorningWild Photography, it’s got these whimsical and romantic details that had us wanting more and more. Rebecca from Ideal Events & Design sought to bring Agnes’s elegant woodland wedding ideas to life and it’s quite safe to say she achieved that goal along with Damsel Floral‘s unbelievably good centerpieces. Those glimmers of peach florals in the arrangements were the perfect touch of color!

bridal portrait - photo by Morningwild Photography http://ruffledblog.com/moss-filled-michigan-wedding

From the planner, Rebecca from Ideal Events & DesignI was thrilled when Agnes reached out to me to work on her upcoming wedding to Jeff. As an art director, Agnes had a wonderful vision for their wedding day and I was thrilled to help bring her elegant woodland wedding to life. Agnes had already chosen a beautiful location, a private white barn at Bieker Farms, which is nestled between beautiful woodlands and an apple orchard, so we began working on securing the rest of her vendors and bringing together all of the elements of the day.

Of course the location was such a feature of the design for this wedding – Agnes wanted to highlight the woods that surrounded the property because she and Jeff often escape on weekends to family woodlands in Northern Michigan. Incorporating moss (collected from the family land) and ferns was a way to bring their life into the design elements. The bride and her friends spent a day creating the gorgeous moss covered sign to hang behind the bar and ferns were featured in the centerpieces by Damsel Floral. Agnes even created a fern logo to use throughout the wedding stationery.

As we began to build the day, it was always evident that Agnes and Jeff kept their guests at the forefront of their minds. They truly wanted everyone in attendance to feel part of their celebration – from ensuring polka music was played for her Polish family members to serving family style meals to encourage conversation – so many decisions focused on their family and friends. As the evening went on and the celebration lasted well into the night with late night pizzas and a sparkler send off for the newlyweds, I do believe their guests enjoyed every minute of it!

Live Floral Backdrop Wedding Inspiration

Wedding Design

Floral wall backdrops are something that we’ll never tire of, frankly. No matter if they’re used at a ceremony or behind the sweetheart table, they give off such elegance and the best part is you can do absolutely anything you want with it. So when LVL Weddings & Events tackled this brilliant shoot, they moved towards the direction of a fun and refreshing botanical floral wall exquisitely done by Flower Bar, mixing and matching tropical green leaves with bubblegum pink roses and peonies with creamy hydrangeas to name a few. Not stopping there, the wow factor extended all over this editorial. Definitely a shoot to see and we have Amy and Jordan Photography to thank for it!

floral wall - photo by Amy & Jordan Photography http://ruffledblog.com/wedding-inspiration-with-a-live-floral-backdrop

From the event planners and designers, LVL Weddings & Events: Emily Schiesl of LVL Weddings & Events took the reins on a styled shoot design held at The Clayton on the Park in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. Emily was inspired by botanical florals seen in spring fashion and decor popping up in the early months of 2016 and chose to complement the bright blooms with bold black and the softness of blush and gold throughout the overall design.

The most bold statement came from the ceremony backdrop designed by Flower Bar, to create the look of a live floral wall (floral wallpaper anyone?!). The flower wall was designed to look like botanical prints found in books and wall decor, with carefully placed blooms mixed with greens. This bold statement piece complemented the softness of the blush linens by La Tavola as well as the stationary suite by Vee Creative.

We couldn’t have asked for a more darling couple – a local, recently married duo, whose love just danced in every photo. The bride wore the Ariane gown from BHLDN with a cathedral veil and teardrop earrings before changing into her ‘getaway’ dress, also BHLDN. We kept the groom more traditional in a tailored tuxedo-style suit by Brothers Tailors (letting him lose the tie for their getaway photos in the desert sunset). The cake and specialty deserts by Ruze Cake House almost stole the show! Macarons and cookies shared the same floral designs by Vee Creative, while the lollipops and sugar cubes held edible flowers, perfect for a bubbly toast. Ruze Cake House also tied in the black, blush, gold and floral theme with a 3-tiered gold gilded cake and mini naked cakes in dark chocolate with fresh blooms.

Whimsical Oceanside Wedding

DIY Weddings

Photos by:

Gaby J Photography

Bright and colorful are two words we get giddy about when we hear a real wedding description. Gaby J Photography had the liberty of hanging out all over Rancho Guajome’s grounds to capture Cinthia and Rick’s wedding. Add in some beautiful pink tones and ivory hydrangea and you’ve got a sweet day of celebration for the books!

bride and groom - photo by Gaby J Photography http://ruffledblog.com/ranch-style-wedding-in-oceanside

From the bride, Cinthia: I tried to go for shabby chic, but ended up with of mixture of stuff. Our whole wedding was very much DIY. Rick was very adamant about not living together before we got married so we pretty much organized the whole wedding long distance. We considered many options for our wedding. Like having a cute elopement in Point Reyes CA or having a BIG wedding here in Vegas but we couldn’t find something we both could truly agree on. We had a budget so I started looking at state parks in San Diego. I found Rancho Guajome online. We checked it out on a weekend I was out there and booked it a week later. They were the most affordable with minimal restrictions. It was also very beautiful. The garden area where we got married had all the flowers in full bloom when we saw it the first time. One year later we got married and he relocated to Vegas.

Colorful Wedding at Terrain

Garden Weddings

No matter how many times we see rain on a wedding day, it never appears to put a damper on the newlyweds’ faces. Amanda and Rich were all smiles for their color-filled wedding day at Terrain at Styer’s, one of our very own long-time favorite venues! Ruffled vendor danfredo photos + films nailed it behind the camera, while Fresh Designs Florist brought the bride’s dream floral visions to life.

colorful wedding at Terrain - photo by danfredo photos and film http://ruffledblog.com/colorful-wedding-at-terrain

From the bride, Amanda: My husband Rich and I visited Terrain, our venue, for a coffee several months before we got engaged. We loved how beautiful, rustic, and romantic it was while also feeling laid back and cozy. Terrain’s vibe informed much of our wedding planning. We knew we wanted to get married, and we knew that we wanted all of our guests to really enjoy celebrating with us and to feel like they were a part of something special too. As we planned, we tried to imagine our wedding from the perspective of our guests and make everything as easy and fun as possible.

Handcrafted Romance Wedding Inspiration

Wedding Design

The inspiration behind today’s shoot started with the bridesmaid dresses, and it’s easy to see why. The delicate pattern and flowing material are not only easy on the eyes, they also set the imagination running! The wonderful team of Amy and Jordan Photography, Ashley Gain Weddings, and The Flower Studio tied everything together with a focus on attention to handcrafted detail.

handcrafted romance wedding inspiration - photo by Amy and Jordan Photography http://ruffledblog.com/handcrafted-romance-wedding-inspiration

From the event designer, Ashley Gain Weddings: Romance. The art of a brush stroke can say it all. The inspiration for the the shoot came from the authentic feel of hand-crafted design. The calligraphy ink, the hand painted flowers on the cake, the florals on the bridesmaids dress to the tiny rosettes on the china. The art of taking so many tiny handcrafted details and making them an overall concept. It started with the bridesmaids’ dresses. While so many brides have a hard time going choosing a “pattern,” these dresses allow a bride that wants to do something different but still have that timeless-romantic look. Jenny Yoo’s dress spoke to that subtle yet intrinsic feel that we then incorporated into the entire styled-shoot. The dresses inspired the stationary with torn edges, a simple color palette and china with pink and gold saturated hues that added hints of soft-spoken glamour.

Never in our lives have we seen so many different styles of flowers in one wedding, and we are ALL about it. Today’s wedding from Logan Clement, Bride Meets Wedding, Shelly Sarver Designs, and Hand Pickd (Just For You) is full of inspired floral design, tons of beautiful rentals, and a wedding dress covered in tiny flower accents.

From the wedding planner, Aubrey Secrest of Bride Meets Wedding: When you look at Gabrielle and Andrew you can see not only the love they have for each other, but the amount of love that they have for their family and friends. These two thrive on spending time with their families, and really focused on not making the wedding day just about themselves and their new journey as husband and wife, but as a celebration of their family and friends.

So, we just about lost it when we saw this bride’s incredible floral patterned wedding gown by Olvi’s. Not only does it fit Ann like a glove, but the pops of color are the perfect look for spring and put such a smile on our faces. Thank you to Anna Delores and Creations by Nupur for your work on this beautiful day!

From the bride, Ann: We were hoping to have a wedding using eclectic travel vernacular paired with a modern sensibility. Both my husband and I are drawn to modern aesthetics, but we wanted to express a timelessness through our love of travel. Our location was very modern, and our graphics melded modern herring bone patterns with old-style maps, and our flowers took on a more lush, eclectic look through traditional centerpieces paired with modern succulents. Because our guests were also traveling for the wedding, we wanted them to feel like they were joining us on a tropical weekend getaway. Our favorite weddings have been weekend-long events where guests meet and become friends over their shared experience, so we launched the party with a beach BBQ on Friday, wedding festivities and hotel poolside bonding on Saturday, and a Sunday farewell brunch. When it came to Sunday’s brunch, we repeatedly tried to introduce various friends and family members, whom already got to know each other quite well by weekend’s end – which we loved!

Pale Pink and Icy Blue Floral Arrangement

Flower Guide

Photos by:

Sweet Root Village

While spring might be the season that makes you think of flowers the most, winter is rich with its own selection of beautiful blooms and Sweet Root Village is here to help prove that point. The photography + floral design powerhouse put together a beautiful arrangement of flowers incorporating soft blue and sweet pink, perfect for Pantone’s colors of 2016! Let’s take a look:

Ruffled - photo by Sweet Root Village http://ruffledblog.com/pale-pink-and-icy-blue-floral-arrangement

From Sweet Root Village: This glamorous, wintery centerpiece is packed with lush ivory and pale pink blooms and completed with touches of icy blue textures. A perfect way to mix the 2016 Pantone colors of the year! The bulk of this arrangement is made up of blooms that can be found all year long, such as hydrangea, standard roses, and spray roses. These blooms can be found in such a huge variety of colors and translate well into nearly any sort of theme or style depending on how they are used!

pale pink and icy blue floral arrangement - photo by Sweet Root Village http://ruffledblog.com/pale-pink-and-icy-blue-floral-arrangement

Some of the more delicate blooms like Scabiosa and Ranunculus can be sourced most of the year, but they do have several off months that fluctuate depending on the weather. Evergreens and Firs can be foraged all year long, but are most used during the winter months of course due to the wintery feeling they add to arrangements and wreaths. Privet berry is another wintery element that is well loved for its deep blue colored berries! It’s usually available over the summer, but its berries are green! They slowly darken to the deep blue color we all love the closer they get to winter and typically finish their season by December. During the Spring months, the always lovely Viburnum is a great alternative! Eucalyptus silver bell pods are typically only found over the holidays! Get them in December and January before they bloom out and are hard to find.

Paperwhites are an extremely fragrant bulb flower that are usually found during the Winter months of November through March. The teeny, delicate blooms clustered in an arrangement add such a beautiful and unexpected texture! They are not expensive blooms, but they do quickly add up in an arrangement due to needing so many of the tiny stems to make any sort of impact.

This centerpiece could translate to a Spring arrangement by adjusting to add some stunning sweat pea on the vine and popping in a few fluffy peonies. Or to a Summer, rustic wedding by switching out the wintery textures for queen anne’s lace and seeded eucalyptus. Extra deep toned burgundy Dahlias and snapdragons with some dried hydrangeas would take this arrangement towards gorgeous Autumn route.

Equestrian Ranch Wedding

Rustic Weddings

When you’ve got a wedding with a guest horse and a bride wearing Manolo Blahniks, consider me intrigued. Add in a batch of rustic elements, a reception full of lush greenery, and the talents of Sara Lynn Photographic, Organically You Events, and Sweet Pea Flowers and you’ve got me reeled in!

equestrian ranch wedding - photo by Sara Lynn Photographic http://ruffledblog.com/equestrian-ranch-wedding

From the bride, Ellie: Being that our wedding took place out-of-state, it began with quite a bit of research online and frequent trips to Denver to scope out potential wedding vendors. We also spent many nights on the couch with a glass of wine in-hand exploring different design ideas and vendor options. Our saving grace was hiring our local wedding planner, who was able to help make our dream come to life while we were home in Texas. What were your favorite moments from the wedding day? Right before our grand exit, our band put Michael Buble’s “Save the Last Dance For Me” on. While our wedding planner was lining up our guests outside the tent, the two of us remained inside and broke out in a completely unplanned, final bride and groom dance. It was such a magical moment, complete with cheers from our band members!

From the photographer, Sara Lynn Photographic: Ellie and Zach were married on September 26, 2015 at Arrow C Ranch in Parker, Colorado. Their day was a beautifully planned equestrian ranch wedding with bohemian touches mixed with luxury. Some of my favorite touches were the antlers and furs scattered around the tables, chairs and lounge seating area. Ellie’s ‘something blue’ were high heeled Manolo Blahnik’s that turned her into a supermodel that she paired with a stunning layered gown.

Their ceremony was in the estate’s courtyard and they were married under a draped arbor with Pike’s Peak in the background. The reception was kicked off with yard games, drinks and appetizers and guests made their way to the tented reception where they feasted on a Texan themed meal to tie in Zach’s southern roots. The night had a cool breeze, perfect because as the band kicked off Zach and Ellie’s first dance, the full harvest moon began to show – something almost every guest took snapshots of.

Ethereal Chapel Wedding

Elegant Weddings

Bride Lindsey knew she wanted her wedding day to be both ethereal and classic, and her chosen color palette of green and white helped her achieve this goal. Jen House Design rocked the floral design, while The Compass Points Here captured everything to total perfection for a lifetime of memories!

From the bride, Lindsey: Pretty, ethereal, and classic. That is how I described my vision for our wedding to our florist and I think that is exactly how it turned out. Plus it was a day full of love and laughter which represents our relationship so very well.

We knew we wanted to get married in a church and were thrilled to find a place where the church, venue and accommodations are in one place. When we picked our venue, I knew we needed a subtle color palette and after a little debate I choose gold and white with a bit of green and blush mixed in. I’m so happy that I took a chance on white bridesmaids dresses because the girls looked like angels walking down the aisle. The boys looked incredibly dapper and classic in a tux sans vest with suspenders. My dress was chosen on the second try and I loved that Hayley Paige is a young female designer who truly understands what so many brides want to be on their big day.

We definitely were attracted to young wedding vendors and can’t say enough positive things about them. By the end of the day it felt like we had new friends celebrating with us. It was a dance party like none other. I am a believer in tiny details that have lots of meaning. For that reason I incorporated little things that meant a lot to my husband and I. I carried a broach on my bouquet that my grandpa gave to my grandma. I wore borrowed diamond studs from my other grandmother. We drank out of borrowed crystal champagne flutes. I gave my dad geese cuff-links as he has lovingly nicknamed me Goose since I was a little girl. We included wedding day photos from our family as a part of the decor. I had our florist write the bridesmaid’s names on the ribbons that tied their bouquets and the lyrics to our wedding song on mine. It all meant something on such a meaningful day.

Sweet Ranch Wedding in Las Vegas

Romantic Weddings

Photos by:

Cara Robbins Studio

From time to time I fall deeply in love with a wedding, and that’s what happened when I laid my eyes on this one from Cara Robbins Studio and Destinations by Design. Zoe and James’ wedding was thoughtful, deliberate, and fearless in its approach to forgoing traditional expectations in favor of what would make them happiest and most comfortable.

sweet ranch wedding in Las Vegas - photo by Cara Robbins Studio http://ruffledblog.com/sweet-ranch-wedding-in-las-vegas

From the bride, Zoe: I knew from very early stages of planning that I wanted our wedding to be a celebration of love that honored the two of us and paid homage to my husband and I as individuals and reflected our sensibilities. We really wanted to lose every extraneous detail and focus on a minimal but extraordinarily beautiful event that would deliver our vision with precision. This meant that from the get-go we knew we wanted to skip some of the more traditional components of the classic wedding format that we felt were either antiquated, or didn’t feel substantive enough to be included in our ceremony.

white rose and peony bouquet - photo by Cara Robbins Studio http://ruffledblog.com/sweet-ranch-wedding-in-las-vegas
Flower recipe: I carried an all-white bouquet of white roses, white peonies, white hydrangeas, ranunculus, and baby’s breath. The bridesmaids carried blue hydrangeas, white peonies, blue thistle, baby’s breath, and blue anemones. All the men wore thistle as their boutonnieres including my dog who was the ring bearer, and my nephews who were flower boys.

I wanted to create an environment that was timeless, non-traditional, romantic, beautiful, and earthy, but that didn’t necessarily fit into a specific category, ie. rustic. I wanted a bohemian feel for our ceremony, with touches of whimsy and a feeling of earnest romance in every detail. The whole event took place outdoors so I wanted everything to blend into the desert landscape where the ceremony took place. Our Chupah was draped with heavy blue cloth and then adorned with blue and cream flowers and moss. We had a beautiful Turkish rug on the podium that we borrowed from my husband’s aunt, and I wore a braided halo with wildflowers in the back that attached to a floor-length veil. We had a make-your-own-mac+cheese bar and a taco bar for dinner. We wanted our wedding to be our ultimate party and we said f*** everybody else’s idea of what a wedding should look like! Best move ever on our part.

Our color scheme was dusty blue with accents of muted red. Each name tag and place setting was attached to a little air succulent which paid homage to the desert-ranch we got married at. There were little pieces of lavender tucked into each person’s place setting. Words to describe the look of our wedding would be romantic, bohemian, non-traditional, Jewish, timeless, down-to-earth, and minimalist.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Let go of any allegiance to tradition for the sake of tradition if it doesn’t serve a purpose in the greater scheme of your vision. My husband and I kind of fought to shake some of the traditions that we found antiquated and gendered. We chose not to be announced and not to do the Hora (very controversial!). I didn’t throw a bouquet and both my parents walked me down the aisle. I hated the idea of being “given away” as it seemed so anti-feminist to me. Because we only did things we wanted to do our celebration was amazing! It was all about the ceremony and then amazing food and dancing. We kept the formalities to a minimum and I think it was appreciated all around.

From the photographer, Cara Robbins: A little back story on Zoe and James, I actually photographed their siblings’ wedding a couple years back (believe it or not her brother is married to his sister!). Zoe and Moria (James’ sister) met at summer camp years ago and sort of decided that they were going to marry each others brothers, and some how that actually happened!! You’ll have to get the full story from Zoe but can you believe that? Together the boys own Ventura Sprits, a small distillery in Venutra, CA and Zoe is a doula/birthing coach. Together they live in downtown LA in a beautiful loft where we actually did their engagement photos. They got married out at James’ aunt’s ranch just on the outskirts of Las Vegas. When they first approached me about this I wasn’t so sure about a Las Vegas wedding but boy was I wrong! This ranch was absolutely amazing and made for a perfect and very personal backdrop for their wedding (there was even a mini horse!). The property itself has so many great details and they just wanted to bring a really fresh and simple vibe to the decor. One of my favorite parts was that dinner was served on farmhouse tabled that were positioned between a mini orchard of fruit trees (just wait til you see this)! They had beautiful table decor and little gifts for each guest – air plants – as escort cards. Cocktail hour was hosted right next to this amazing oasis pool and guests got to drink cocktails made with the alcohol that James and Henry make! The wedding party was large and mixed, they really didn’t want to make it only brides maids and groomsmen so there were boys and girls on both of their sides and the girls got to wear mixed dresses that were stunning against the desert background. Zoe’s amazing ring was actually James’ mothers and the two of them are all about family (check out the super cute flower boys and their adorable flower crowns). Also at the end of the night James surprised Zoe by covering Can’t Feel My Face by the weekend and serenading her!

Elegant Colorado Winter Wedding

When we talk about picture-perfect weddings, this one tops the list — for example, the scenery during the ceremony was so picturesque we had to do a double take to make sure it was real! Thank you, Colorado. Lisa O’Dwyer, Pink Diamond Events, and Hana Style Designs all lived up to their incredible potential working on Joette and Justin’s wedding day, full of darling details and great ideas to inspire your own wedding day.

elegant Colorado winter wedding - photo by Lisa ODwyer Photography http://ruffledblog.com/elegant-colorado-winter-wedding

From the bride, Joette: We both love the outdoors and wanted a beautiful, natural scene for the backdrop of our wedding. We wanted the day to represent who we are and to be an intimate celebration with the people closest to us. We wanted get out of town and I asked Justin – beach or mountains? He picked mountains. Oddly enough, my parents have friends who just finished building out a home in Estes Park, and they had extended an invitation to visit. My mom and I went for a weekend, and it was just beautiful. I sent Justin some pictures and then my mom and I spent the weekend looking at venues with her friend as our personal guide.

I think our wedding was classic and timeless in a rustic setting (for lack of more eloquent words!). I wanted soft tones to balance out the wood and the dark room at the reception. Overall it was exactly what I envisioned and the images perfectly capture that feeling. Our personalities are a mix of rugged and soft. I believe our flowers included some hydrangeas and soft pink roses, we had some greenery hanging from the chandeliers. We also incorporated branches in the table settings and our florist spray painted some succulents gold which was an awesome touch.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? The double edged sword is that images and ideas are readily available through print and social media. It’s incredibly helpful and yet overwhelming. It also makes it easier to get swept up in all of the wrong things and forget why you are truly planning a wedding. When your wedding day comes there are always elements outside of your control – no matter how much planning you have done. Surround yourself with people you can trust and go into the day knowing that you may have a good story or two to tell. The goal is not a perfect day, but a joyful life together.

Modern Black and White Wedding with Emerald

Modern Weddings

Any couple who describes their wedding theme as “Kate Spade met The Wicked Witch of the West” has already garnered my attention and adoration, and this wedding did not disappoint. Sarah Libby Photography, Everything Beautiful OKC, and Leigh and Louise Design came together to work on Avery and Michael’s modern wedding with a clean color palette of black, white, gold, and green, with a bit of burgundy in the floral arrangements for good measure.

modern black and white wedding with emerald - photo by Sarah Libby Photography http://ruffledblog.com/modern-black-and-white-wedding-with-emerald

From the bride, Avery: I would describe our wedding style as Kate Spade meets Boho chic. If Kate Spade fell into a forest, that’s the feel we were going for. Somehow our end phrase became Kate Spade met The Wicked Witch of the West.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Don’t follow protocol. Just because that’s the way it’s always been done doesn’t mean that’s how it has to be. Make it your own and then own it. Secondly, take a moment to take it all in, it. Thirdly, don’t pay $1,000 for your veil. A full cathedral veil with a blusher cost us $18.00.

From the photographer, Sarah Libby Photography:
Michael and Avery were married this fall with a modern, fresh, and fun vibe. Avery stunned in her long sleeve plunging neck gown by Madison James from Beloved Bridal and Michael could not stop looking at her. Michael surprised her with her grandmother’s ring to wear as her wedding band and the tears flowed. The bridesmaids wore bold emerald Badgley MIschka gowns and the groomsmen wore a classic tux. They were married at sunset overlooking the Oklahoma farmlands. They chose bold tablecloths to fancy up their reception space and chose a non-traditional cake table filled with fancy donuts and cookies. They also had specialty pizza’s prepared for all of their guests from their favorite pizza place. They had a confetti entrance to their reception and partied with family and friends before their sparkler sendoff!

Fairytale Cottage Wedding at Craven Farm

Romantic Weddings

Today’s wedding is the perfect depiction of a fairy tale wedding come true. Bride Alyssa wanted her wedding to be a reflection of every girl’s dream wedding growing up, but with a grownup approach — or, as she says, “like Cinderella’s Ball, but at the cottage instead of the castle.” Lora Grady Photography, Kaleb Norman James, and Dancing Fox Weddings and Events did exquisite work bringing this vision to life!

fairytale cottage wedding at Craven Farm - photo by Lora Grady Photography http://ruffledblog.com/fairytale-cottage-wedding-at-craven-farm

From the bride, Alyssa: From the very beginning stages of planning I knew I wanted our wedding to feel like a fairytale. I wanted it to be exactly how every little girl pictures her wedding when she grows up, but with the adult class and romance. I wanted the décor to represent an enchanted forest or garden. We had a lot of beautiful greenery throughout the venue and in the florals, and there were all shades of pink represented in the flowers which were mostly roses. I wanted the day to feel just magical, romantic, and warm, and like an escape from everyday life into a celebration of our love story in a picturesque setting. Although our venue, being a farm, feels rustic and most weddings held there go with the country feel, I wanted ours to bring elegance inside the barn walls. I told our florist “Like Cinderella’s Ball, but at the cottage instead of the castle.”

fairy tale wedding - photo by Lora Grady Photography http://ruffledblog.com/fairytale-cottage-wedding-at-craven-farm

Our color scheme was multiple shades of pink, with accents of pale/sky blue and gold. The theme was cottage fairytale, I am a big Disney fan if you can’t tell already (Miguel proposed in front of the castle at Disneyland!) but I wanted to eliminate anything “cheesy” or childish and add elements that would portray that whole vibe but still be very elegant and timeless. I designed our logo and printed it on stickers for the top of the 2oz jars of honey butter for the favors. The groom is a former chef and made the honey butter from scratch and then him and my maid of honor spent a few hours tying bows around each jar while I worked on other projects! All of the calligraphy was done by myself, I learned calligraphy before sending out save the dates and hand lettered all the addresses on the save the dates and invitations. I also did the name cards and all of the signage you see was done in the late hours of the night wondering if I would ever finish! Haha. The animals attached to the name cards were hands down a favorite part of the décor! My MOH and I spray painted them all gold and then attached them to the cards with string. They were adorable, especially the dinosaurs! We spent way too much time assigning different animals to each guest thinking about which one might be their favorite. We also had a couple of birdcages that were spray painted and the programs were designed and printed and then we added the gold elements to them as well.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Don’t procrastinate! Create a timeline and stick to it. Also, you can only pin on Pinterest so much before you have to sift through all of the ideas and narrow down what your big day will actually look like. I printed out my favorite pins and created a vision board to keep me on track of the ideas that I really loved and wanted to see come to life for my wedding. Also, just enjoy the day. It goes by SO fast! There is no time throughout the day where you aren’t busy doing photos, or talking with guests, or getting ready with the bridal party so remember to take as much of it in as possible and remember the little moments and the feelings and emotions that you experience as the day goes on.

Chic Wedding Inspiration in a Florentine Villa

Wedding Design

Photos by:

Les Amis Photo

When I think of elegance, the image that pops up in my head is almost a complete replica of this shoot from Les Amis Photo and Fluida Design. Photographed in Florence, this inspiration is full of rich floral design, vintage clothing, and of course the unbeatable scenery of Italy. We also can’t wait to replicate the flowers and greenery intertwined in the candelabras for our next event!

From the photographers, Les Amis Photo: A private event in an old villa in the center of Florence; the model was wearing with the vintage clothing brand Princesse Florence, who also dressed Lady D. The floral arrangements were baroque, lavish vases, bright colors, regal clothes. There was the scent of a Luxury Florence with a romantic and melancholic taste.

Garden Rooftop Wedding Inspiration

Wedding Design

There are few things chicer than a rooftop wedding, and when you add the romanticism of a secret garden, it just becomes irresistible. This inspiration shoot comes straight out of Dallas, with the talented photography and designs of Elisabeth Carol Photography, Chic Fleur Weddings and Events, and Something Pretty Floral in tow. I tell you, we could stare at that incredible floral and greenery table runner all day!

garden rooftop wedding inspiration - photo by Elisabeth Carol Photography http://ruffledblog.com/garden-rooftop-wedding-inspiration

From the event designer, Chic Fleur Weddings and Events: This dreamy styled shoot took place at the North Ervay Venue which also happens to be a historic post office in downtown Dallas. With a modern rooftop surrounded by Downtown Dallas’s tallest building, we wanted to bring a garden inspired look at a modern rooftop setting. Designed and styled by Chic Fleur Weddings and Events was a romantic table setting with vintage details of flatware and brass candlesticks with a long floral garland designed by Something Pretty Floral. Our model wore a delicate feminine dress that took our breath away every time the wind blew. A dove release was a must have to fit this romantic shoot. From the romantic furniture rentals to the significant building itself, it could not have been a more romantic back drop for our modern garden shoot.

Mountain Estate Wedding in North Carolina

Elegant Weddings

Hearing Nancy Ray Photography describe Taylor and Chris’ wedding day, we so wish we could have been there ourselves to take in the whole day. Flower Gallery outdid themselves with arrangements full of ivory and pink blooms and lush greenery (including a cool weather favorite, dusty miller). Prepare to fall in love!

mountain estate wedding in North Carolina - photo by Nancy Ray Photography http://ruffledblog.com/mountain-estate-wedding-in-north-carolina

From the photographer, Nancy Ray Photography: The moment I stepped onto the beautiful mountain estate where this wedding celebration was held, my breath was taken away. I wish I could take you by the hand right now and lead you through the secret passage ways that led from one garden to another, to show you the historic home nestled on the side of the mountain, to let you feel the cool summer air that can only be felt in the mountains, to let you listen to the rumblings of thunder that never brought the rain (thanks to the buried bourbon!), to lead you to the ceremony tent that perfectly fit inside a garden walled with trees, to walk you around the wrap around porch that held the laughter and conversations of so many guests that day. This wedding was one of the most uniquely beautiful weddings I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing.

To add to that, Taylor and Chris are the most down to earth, devoted couple you’ll ever meet. High school sweethearts have a familiarity that already gives you the feeling that their married in some ways, because they know each other so well and have been together so long. This familiarity in Taylor and Christian only made things more exciting on their wedding day, because they, as very best friends, had looked forward to it for so long. This day sealed the many days of their lives they had already spent together, as they vowed to continue to live their lives together loving one another forever. They have an old love with a new, fresh excitement.

Colorful Boho Wedding at Historic Cedarwood

Whimsical Weddings

Photos by:

Teale Photography

Oodles of gorgeous pinks, tons of lush greenery, an inspiring bohemian ceremony backdrop, and beautiful flowers everywhere you look make this wedding from Teale Photography and Cedarwood Weddings one for the books. If anything, this wedding proves that fuchsia is nothing less than a color for all seasons!

colorful boho wedding at Historic Cedarwood - photo by Teale Photography http://ruffledblog.com/colorful-boho-wedding-at-historic-cedarwood

From the bride, Larin: We wanted to create an environment that blended rustic elegance with the organic warmth of a backyard bash. Capitalizing on the raw beauty of Cedarwood Weddings, our styling was romantic, playful, and totally us! I wanted our personal style to shine through in the details – and our guests definitely noticed! The color scheme, inspired by my bedroom pillows actually, was intended to complement the natural setting – blush to vibrant pinks, lush greenery, and mixed metals.

Bouquet recipe: My bouquet was a textural masterpiece of king protea, peonies, ranunculus, roselily, varied roses, hydrangea, wax flower, seeded eucalyptus, and cascading jasmine vine. It was so heavy, but I didn’t want to put it down all night!

From the very beginning, I knew I wanted our altar to be a lasting artifact we could display in our home. I created this free-flowing installation to give the already beautiful backdrop a layer of depth and whimsy. The pinks and florals were perfectly juxtaposed with more masculine accents – woods, skulls, antlers, and other raw materials to create an earthy vibe. And if my husband loves anything more than me, it’s his country – insert American flag everywhere.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Be you and have fun with it! Enjoy making each little decision – just try to make them only once! If you’re into DIY and questioning what to take-on yourself – I urge you to commit to at least one project! Just be sure to give yourself plenty of time, and you’ll be happy you did. Give your bridesmaids the opportunity to shine! I’m so thrilled each of the girls’ dresses wove their personalities into our day. Pick a venue that you find aesthetically special, even in it barest form, to be your canvas. Cedarwood Weddings offers guests a variety of settings on one property and the effortless flow from one to the next kept guests on their toes! Offer out-of-town guests a taste of your hometown, even if it is adopted. For us that meant a historic property exuding Southern charm, a bluegrass duo in the barn cocktail hour, and late-night hot chicken bites! And, let’s not underestimate the power of Southern folklore – our buried bottle of bourbon diverted a storm! Choose an experienced team and you’ll sleep better. Entrusting my vision to one holistic team made planning a (really fun) breeze – thank you for bringing our vision to life!

Bohemian Wedding at Secluded Garden Estate

Bohemian Weddings

Photos by:

Priscila Valentina

Today’s wedding is a perfect blend of all the styles we love, which results in a wedding we just can’t take our eyes off of. Danielle and Eric began dating at only 14 years old, and were even married by the groom’s own sister who had watched the relationship grow since childhood. Don’t miss any of the sweet details captured by Priscila Valentina!

bohemian wedding at Secluded Garden Estate - photo by Priscila Valentina http://ruffledblog.com/bohemian-wedding-at-secluded-garden-estate

From the bride, Danielle: I originally wanted the style of my wedding to be more on the rustic side but after researching and looking at blogs of other weddings I realized that I really loved the vintage styles that were being done. So from there I kinda just had the idea of doing more vintage with a little bit of rustic to it. I didn’t exactly have a theme but knew I just wanted it to be as simple as possible and nothing over the top. As far as colors I wanted to have neutrals with light pastel colors. I told my bridesmaids to try to find something neutral and that they could pick their dress and if I liked it then it was fine for them to get. It turned out that all of them were only finding dresses that were blush color so I just decided that they all just had to be blush and since the guys were wearing grey I knew that would work out perfectly. So overall my colors were neutral with soft pinks and of course our venue was full of greenery so that helped finish everything off.

Oh one thing I wanted to point out that was very special to me was the fact that my sister-in-law was the one who married us. My husband and I began dating when we were 14 and I became friends with his younger sister right away and she has become one of my best friends. It was very meaningful because she has watched us grow in our relationship for the last 12 years. So when she threw the idea out there I couldn’t have been more happier because she has been there through it all and truly knows us as individuals and a couple. Her marrying us was one of the highlights of the day.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? After going through this entire experience the one thing I would want to know if I was just starting this process would be to have a small wedding. We had about 200 guests and it was extremely overwhelming. Most of our time was spent just saying hi and that was it. There wasn’t enough time to have conversations with people. So any advice would be to have a small intimate wedding. It will be hard to cut down the list of people but well worth it. Oh and make sure you EAT!!! You don’t want to have an empty stomach because it is such a long day.

Elegant Nashville Fall Wedding

Elegant Weddings

Austin Gros

Listen up, guys and gals… It’s actually a bit absurd how good this wedding from Austin Gros and Big Events Wedding is. I’m just going to warn you now that you’ll probably want to set aside some time to soak in all the details, because they’re not even just good, they’re everywhere. Adair and Kane’s wedding in Nashville is the perfect welcome for fall, which is just right around the corner!

elegant Nashville fall wedding - photo by Austin Gros http://ruffledblog.com/elegant-nashville-fall-wedding

From the bride, Adair: Kane and I both felt very strongly about getting married in Nashville. We had both left our homes and moved to Nashville alone to start a life for ourselves. And roughly seven years later, we were starting to put our family roots down in Nashville together. Kane also wanted to get married in the fall. The native trees in Australia don’t turn and Tennessee has one of prettiest displays of fall foliage known to man. He wanted his family and friends to experience that and I loved the idea of everyone coming to our town and getting to experience a little piece of our life.

Bouquet recipe: Garden roses, various types of eucalyptus to pay homage to my husband’s homeland, as well as kangaroo paw and gum nuts. Orchids, ranunculus, hydrangeas etc…

I wanted the day/night to move progressively and we wanted each space to be different from the last. The flowers and decor were to get deeper in color, as the daylight got more scarce. Each space would be slightly more elegant than the last. The ceremony would be during daylight with softer colors of blush, nude and cream and more natural, organically shaped arrangements. The cocktail hour at the pavilion would be at dusk and more color was introduced in the arrangements and decor. With sunset at 6:02 and dinner at 6:15 the greenhouse would be illuminated with candlelight and moonlight and would be dripping in jewel toned, lush arrangements with a bit more structure.

We wanted the day to feel intimate and private. We chose to have only 65 of our closest family and friends. It was really important to us that the day be about us officially starting our lives together. We didn’t want to invite anyone out of obligation. We also didn’t want to meet anyone for the first time on the most important day of our lives. We wanted to enjoy the day and actually get a chance to speak to everyone that we hold so dearly to us. It wasn’t just about us, it was about us sharing the moment with everyone that has supported us and helped us grow as individuals and as a couple. We also chose to not have any bridesmaids or groomsmen for this very reason. Everyone attending has been a part of our lives separately or together and made an incredible impact on us.

It’s really hard to pick just one moment for a favorite. The first moment we saw each other will always be what I think about. How his face lit up like a little kid excited to see Santa Claus. I had several people tell me after the ceremony that they had never seen a happier groom. We both loved the moment after we walked up the aisle as husband and wife. We finally got to see each other and catch up for the first time all day. We sat in the horse drawn carriage while our guests were taken to cocktail hour and talked about how we were so impressed that neither of us cried and how excited we were for the rest of the day. We spent the next hour getting our family photos and then our bridal photos snapped and had a ball. The pressure was off and it was party time.

Industrial Wedding in Shreveport

Romantic Weddings

Photos by:

Brandi Smyth

Today’s wedding, shared with us by the talented Brandi Smyth and Mandy Cathey, brings together the best of industrial and romantic style. Bride Caroline wanted her wedding day to be natural and airy, so an outdoor wedding was the perfect solution. Add in an industrial reception space with lofty ceilings and plenty of windows, and you’ve got a beautiful day for the books.

From the bride, Caroline: We were going for a traditional southern wedding! With it being April and an outside wedding we wanted everything to be natural and airy. Our color scheme was mint green and cream with blush and gold accents. We didn’t have much DIY going on! I’m not very crafty and was finishing up dental school while planning the wedding. We did incorporate a lot of pieces that belong to family members. The buffet at the altar is my mom’s and the china on the wedding party table was my great grandmothers! One DIY project my mom did for me was the picture charms tied on my bouquet of family members that had passed away and couldn’t be there with us!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? My advice to couples planning now would be don’t get bogged down with the details. At the end of our planning there were several small details I wanted and almost gave up on but am so glad I stuck to what I wanted! It made our day much more personal and our guests really appreciated the small touches!

Lush greens, deep burgundy, airy peach, rich gold — today’s shoot mixes all of these color tones brilliantly and adds in a dash of southern charm to top off everything nicely. Becca B Photography, Amore Events by Cody, and Foxtail Cottage Floral is a team like no other, and all you’ll have to do to believe us is take one look at these images.

From the photographer, Becca B Photography: Inspired by the changing of seasons, the idea of this inspiration shoot quickly came to life by incorporating colors and tones of all seasons to create a setting that would work for weddings year round. From the greenhouse and rolling hills setting at The Market at Grelen, the vintage Dolce & Gabbana gown, the escort cards hanging above the table in mini bud vases from BHLDN, combined with the soft peach and dark plum tones we created a soft, modern, and dreamy atmosphere that had all of us on site “ohhh” and “ahhh” throughout the day!

The table setting took place inside of a greenhouse, providing a soft and modern feel- A unique twist on escort display by hanging the escort cards above the tables within mini bud vases from BHLDN. By doing so, this creates an interactive environment for your guests as they find their escort cards at their table for the evening! Bridal portraits took place outside with the rolling hills and Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, VA as the backdrop. Florals by Foxtail Cottage incorporated colors of all seasons, with a bridal bouquet that had more touches of Spring/Summer and the centerpieces with tones of Fall/Winter. Peaches and plums were incorporated throughout this shoot, which brought the colors of the florals and other accents together. A vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress from Shop Gossamer had a soft champagne color which is perfect for weddings year round!

The invitation suite by Splotch & Line incorporated fall/winter tones with a special focus on peaches including the sweet RSVP card that stated “Don’t miss dancing under the peach tree!” Salads and ice cream made on site at The Market at Grelen including produce that was grown on site within their 600 acre farm – Signature cocktail was a Plum Infused Champagne cocktail! The cocktail paired perfectly with the stunning and delicious “barely naked” cake by Cakes by Rachel. The dreamy hairstyle was created by the talented Brianna B Adams with the vintage bronzed hairpiece from Shop Gossamer.

Pennsylvania Wedding with Soft Purples

Elegant Weddings

Soft shades of blush pink and lavender, fluffy peony and hydrangea floral arrangements, and one couple unbelievably in love — that’s the recipe for today’s wedding. Gloria and Mike’s wedding day was sophisticated, romantic, and elegant, and no one was better suited for the job of documenting the big day than film photographer Lauren Gabrielle Photography.

Pennsylvania wedding with soft purples - photo by Lauren Gabrielle Photography http://ruffledblog.com/pennsylvania-wedding-with-soft-purples

From the bride, Gloria: The look that we were going for was spring elegance with a touch of romance, which was inspired when I could not just choose one color for the bridesmaid dresses and ended up blending some shades of blush pinks and lavenders. I wanted our wedding to embody a fresh spring ambiance pulled together with a formal black tie event feel as well, to portray the importance of this day for both my fiance (now husband!!!) and I and our families, as well as to make the guests have a relaxed and fun time celebrating with us. So we decided to go with black tuxedos for the groomsmen, and fun colors for the bridesmaid dresses, and had a miniature bridal party with all the toddlers and kids in our families (who doesn’t love the laughter and joy kids bring to the ceremony when they walk down the aisle?).

Flower recipe: The factor that really pulled both the formal and soft looks together were our flowers: a blend of white and pink peonies, blush pink hydrangeas, lavender spray roses, garden roses, and pink ranunculus on the wedding cake, centerpieces, and my bouquet was mainly a soft pink and white peony, with white peonies for the bridesmaids’ bouquets.

Any advice for couples planning their wedding day now? Some advice I have for couples currently planning their own special day is to take time away from planning and spend it with the girls and guys who are so involved in your day (shoutout to the most helpful bridesmaids in the world!) and cherish the people who give so much to be a part of your day (for us it was our families). Aside from that, keep your eye on the overall theme and stick to it (it will be a lifesaver when it comes to the nitty gritty details). Also, my husband and I were a long distance couple for our whole relationship (Michigan and Pennsylvania), and I was also finishing nursing school at the time. I know there are plenty of other couples out there who are also juggling many many deadlines and milestones, and it is important to remember why you are getting married in the first place – to join paths with your best friend and the one you love most. It makes it all so much more fun and enjoyable!
