Colorful Bohemian German Wedding

Bohemian Weddings

An outdoor boho chic wedding doesn’t always have to be in an earthy setting as Sarah and Martin’s vibrant Germany wedding proves. Expertly photographed by Ashley Ludaescher Photography, hosting a bohemian-style fête on the grounds of an impressive estate like this one in the equally-impressive German countryside is just as perfect! Choosing a palette with moody reds as the foundation, Love Circus transformed Sarah and Martin’s wedding venue into a hip location with the right amount of elegance from Ulrike Buchheim‘s floral designs. All of the different elements and trends harmonizing so well together has us gleaming with delight!

From the photographer, Ashley Ludaescher Photography: This wedding beautifully styled by Love Circus, was so much fun to photograph. With a bohemian garden theme, guests enjoyed the beautiful summer weather in Northern Germany on the stunning grounds of Schloss Herzfelde. Guests escaped the city and spent the weekend celebrating Sarah & Martin tying the knot after a decade together. From the flower crown station for the guests to create their own flower crowns, to the bride’s gorgeous Mira Zwillinger dress, the weekend was filled with beautiful touches and details. Sarah works in fashion and her dress purchased from Brown’s Bride in London fit her perfectly and matched the relaxed sophisticated vibe of the wedding weekend.

Mixing and matching wedding style ideas can be nerve-wracking, especially if the two or more ideas are complete polar opposites of one another. Opt for having luscious florals if you’re seeking out an elegant wedding and toss your more modern ideas in during cocktail hour, as seen here in Sarah and Martin’s fun and bohemian wedding lounge area. A huge tip for pulling the ideas off: be sure to keep the color choices consistent throughout your big day!

German Barn Wedding

Rustic Weddings

When it comes to wedding days, couples who are wedding photographers themselves always seem to get it right. Anne and Björn have seen many a wedding in their day, so they knew they wanted their wedding to be as stress-free and relaxed as possible. Of course, this doesn’t mean they skimped on style and heartwarming details! Thank you to Carmen and Ingo Photography and Ina Mühlhaus for your wonderful work on this one.

From the bride, Anne: We looked for a relaxed and cosy over-all-feeling with a kind of warm welcome feeling for our guests. No stress with just a rough scribble of the day in our heads. Because of our own profession as wedding photographers, we have seen many weddings and the only thing we wanted to leave behind us was the fear of “over-organizing” our own wedding.

We wanted to celebrate a very naturally and rustic wedding with a lot of little lovely self-made details. When we found the old barn, our feeling said – this is your place to get married. We got married on the meadow in front of the little hut and celebrated in the barn. We decorated with a lot of light-chains around the bars and beams, candles, flowers, old farm apple boxes which we used for a photo corner with old wedding-portraits from our family, pictures from the past, a self-made wooden BAR-sign, wooden sign-posts, and a few pompoms. We spread some straw-bales inside the barn for the look and having a basement for some of our signs. We also prepared a little shisha-lounge with old vintage furniture and our stand light from the flee marked. :) We also had a very old desk and chair where we placed our guestbook and a Polaroid camera. And yes, we had a color scheme – we fell in the love with the color mustard yellow…. :)

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Just enjoy your anticipation, don’t feel stressed if something won’t workout, just leave it behind you and concentrate on the really important things on your day: Your love to your partner. Have fun to create personal stuff – it’s the own details you will have a relation to. It is fun organize some evenings with friends and prepare stuff for the wedding and combining it with nice food’n’wine. It’s a lot about the people you invite to your wedding – they also will have a bigger relationship to your big day if they were involved from the beginning. Enjoy as much time as possible with family and friends in advance. During that (intimate) time they will get a feeling why you are making the next step in your life and will feel even more with you every second on your wedding day.

Whimsical German Wedding

Whimsical Weddings

Lea Bremicker

A blush pink BHLDN wedding gown, German countryside, and a couple so darling they nearly make your cheeks sore from smiling — today’s wedding, captured by Lea Bremicker, has all of that and more. With flowers from Lilly Deluxe and a true labor of love DIY effort from the bride and groom, this wedding has tons to share – so let’s jump in!

From the bride, Nina: We wanted our wedding to be a fun, relaxed and intimate vintage farmhouse wedding. We were happy for our wedding to be a little different, just as the location was. We found this beautiful little mill/farmhouse on the countryside close to the border of Germany and the Netherlands (I’m from Germany + Alex is from the Netherlands), which was absolutely unique and when we saw it we knew we had found the perfect place for our German-Dutch wedding.

For the decoration everything was colorful, handmade and mixed together. We wanted to incorporate vintage and unique elements and really wanted to do a lot of things by ourselves to express who we are and what we like. Also it was important for us not to cover the uniqueness of the farmhouse. The little hearts for our guests to find their seat, the garlands, the table decoration, everything was made by us. For months we collected a lot of mason jars to fill them with flowers or candles. We even designed and created our own invitations. It was fun doing this together and made us look forward to our special day.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? From the beginning, you have a certain idea of how everything should be. For us it always was important that the whole day feels like us. We wanted to spend a great day with our family and friends. During the preparation and at the end of the day you will notice that not everything will turn out as planned but for us it didn’t matter and everything came together even more beautifully than we have imagined it. Our advice is just to celebrate the day just as the two of you would want it to be, enjoy every moment as it is and have a lot of fun.

Black and Gold New Year’s Eve

Wedding Design

Photos by:

Nancy Ebert

If there’s anything New Year’s Eve has become synonymous with over the years, it’s one heck of a party. This shoot, photographed by Nancy Ebert and dressed to the nines by OhSoPretty Party Boutique, is just that – a clean and modern wedding inspiration session with heaps of glitter, confetti, and balloons. 2014 here we come!

black and gold new years eve via ruffledblog.com

From the photographer, Nancy Ebert: I teamed up with some of my favorite wedding vendors from Germany to create a “black & gold” themed styled shoot. The idea behind it was to create a clean and elegant look for a modern couple in a more industrial-like setting. The shooting was in late November with New Year’s Eve 2014 just around the corner, so we included a little celebration in it and just had tons of fun.

From the idea to the actual photoshoot it took us no more than two weeks – including our search for models. We were looking for a non-professional but deeply-in-love-couple. So we called for all followers of my facebook page to send in applications. The only requirement for applicants was to have a total crush on each other and some spare time on the date of the planned shoot. Within the same day we had about 50 applications from so many wonderful people. We actually received so many beautiful applications that it was hard to pick just one couple. But I believe with Corinna and Dennis we chose the perfect couple. They were on fire and did an awesome job without any modeling experience whatsoever. So in the end we had just a blast and let the good times roll.

Turn of The Century Session in Germany

Engagement Sessions

Photos by:

I haven’t posted a bridal shoot in a long long while, but this turn of the century inspired session shot by Maria Hibbs of Squareville Studios in a bucolic town in Germany makes me want to book a trip to Europe stat. Maria is based out of Texas, but travels to Germany often to visit her family.

Germany wedding engagement session

From Maria: While on vacation in Germany this past August I had the opportunity to shoot this bride & groom session with Ricarda & Matthias. They both live in a small town near Berlin and knew the perfect location for our session that was inspired by the look of old Victorian wedding photos you find in antique stores. The vintage dress, the peeled off wall paint and the random props we found in the attic made the entire shoot come together perfectly. We finished our session right before sunset in a nearby field and shot some images with Matthias’ vintage German scooter.
