Virginia Hillside Wedding on Film

Romantic Weddings

Photos by:

Adam Barnes

Today’s wedding is the epitome of a show-stopper. The film images by Adam Barnes Fine Art Photography, the citrus hues of the flowers arranged by Mallory Joyce, and the wedding cake adorned with orange roses all render us completely defenseless against this wedding’s charms. Congratulations to the beautiful couple, Kamilia and Mike!

We love lots of emotion – the laughs, the smiles, and the happy tears. Beautiful light, stunning details, and approaching every wedding differently so that we can create a unique set of images for each couple.

From the photographers:
It’s about you, and the way we see you. The way we see the two of you and everything you love.

Your style, your family, your friends, your personality, and your laughter.

It’s about the moment you first step into your gown.

The realization that it’s finally your wedding day.

The deep breath you take before you see each other. It’s about the promise you make.

It’s about your details. The celebration.

And we want to photograph it. We want to create a set of authentic, timeless, and modern photos. We want to create your heirloom album.

It’s about your love story.

Organic Greenhouse Wedding Inspiration

Wedding Design

Photos by:

Adam Barnes

As soon as we heard Adam Barnes, Ashley Baber Weddings, and The Arrangement Company were working together for a styled shoot, we knew we were in for some serious pretty. The resulting editorial didn’t disappoint, mixing muted pastels with endless beautiful anemones and plenty of eye-catching calligraphy.

From the event designer, Amanda Gray of Ashley Baber Weddings: Natural elements and textures served as inspiration for this early Spring shoot. Marbling and floral bulbs mixed with muted pastels and dark hues created a fresh backdrop. The bride donned layers of lace and tulle, the first look provided by Lovely Bride and Jaclyn Jordan NY. The second look, a sleek lace illusion bodice gown by Watters paired with a fur shoal for the reception. The grooms paper white boutonniere was a fresh compliment to the brides bouquet.

The bridesmaid gown from Joanna August made the muted pastel bouquet the focus as she walked down the aisle. Jewels by Suz Somersall highlighted those warm yellow/peach tones. Stationery from Thick and Thin calligraphy echoed the mix of dark and light, adding a gold elegance element with a marbled paper envelope liner. The greenhouse setting was filled with trees and plants and copious amounts of natural light, in this chilly time of year. The table was set with a black velvet linen to provide texture and marble gold chargers match elements from the stationery. Calligraphed leather tags served as place cards and the unique escort card design by Thick and Thin added to the textured elegance. A live painter was also available to capture the reception, for the couple to treasure for years to come!

Ralph Lauren Inspired Shoot

Wedding Design

We can always count on Adam Barnes Fine Art Photography to bring some serious sophistication to the wedding world. Today’s styled shoot, put together by Fête Studio with flowers from Anthomanic, seamlessly blends equestrian-inspired style with farm elegance for a look that’s reminiscent of archetypal Ralph Lauren.

Ralph Lauren inspired shoot - photo by Adam Barnes http://ruffledblog.com/ralph-lauren-inspired-shoot

From the event stylists, Fête Studio: For this Ralph Lauren inspired style shoot, we wanted to capture the designer’s unique talent for creating a style that looks simultaneously aristocratic and naturally elegant. Inspired by the crisp whites, dusty lilacs, powdery pinks and dove grays of Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2014 collection, the color palette set a romantic tone to complement the classic beauty of Mount Ida Farm in Charlottesville, VA. Then, to create a more dramatic look, we added accents of burgundy and navy and lots of texture, including plaid linens, wooden details, a long table garland, feathers, and a grand bridal bouquet of lisianthus, scabiosa and waxflowers.

Equestrian inspired wedding - photo by Adam Barnes http://ruffledblog.com/ralph-lauren-inspired-shoot

Paying homage to Ralph Lauren’s equestrian flair, we dressed our bride in a second look with a black blazer, top hat and riding boots to pose with her husband and the magnificent Clydesdale horses in a field overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. We sought to craft fall wedding inspiration that exudes timelessness with a touch of drama, a nod to Ralph Lauren’s iconic brand.

City Chic Washington D.C Wedding

Today we’re all about Washington DC, as you can see! This totally glam, chic DC wedding has me drooling over their black and white affair at the drop dead gorgeous DAR Building. It’s the perfect setting for a ballroom wedding with lots of amazing architectural details both indoors and out. Much to our surprise, this wedding was completely DIY! The champagne satin taffeta pomanders were handmade by Michelle’s mother & her crafty friends, and her father (a retired industrial arts teacher) made the table numbers using wrought iron numbers she bought at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl flea market. See all images from this wedding in the gallery!
