Time and again, The Green Building has proven itself to be one of our favorite wedding venues. How can we possibly resist its easy blend of industrial and romantic styles? Clean Plate Pictures was recently there to capture the wedding of Jen and Rob, whose wedding was decked out to stylish amazingness by Whimsy Weddings and Molly Oliver Flowers.
From the bride, Jen: We’re not a couple who likes a lot of attention and fluff, so we wanted our wedding to feel fun and modern. In terms of style, we like a mix of minimalism with graphic colorful pops. We are also obsessed with food and it is a huge part of our relationship, so we wanted to make it the “theme” of our wedding. We were inspired by Smorgasburg, which incorporates a lot of our favorite things: cool people, hip location in Brooklyn, and the ability to feast on a variety of different things. I think we ticked off all those things!
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Don’t listen to people who say things HAVE to be a certain way. If you don’t want a cake, don’t have a cake. If you don’t want to toss your bouquet, don’t do it! Nothing is set in stone; tradition is nothing but a guideline.
