Once you’ve picked out your wedding gown, you may feel like the most exciting part of your wedding day look is done. Rest assured, with all the phenomenal accessories and styling options out there today, it’s nearly as much fun to plan the rest of your bridal style as it was to pick a gown! On June 8th, celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger teamed up with Pronovias to share her tips on how to hone your style and accessorize your wedding day look.
Having styled Hollywood celebrities including Lupita Nyong’o, Michelle Dockery, Olivia Munn, Meryl Streep, and Winona Ryder, Micaela is no stranger to finding just the right combination of accessories to create stunning total looks. This time adding a bridal twist to her usual vintage and glamourous style musings, Micaela expertly led a masterclass that paid special attention to details and the individual needs of her audience of brides-to-be.
For the special occasion, Micaela created 12 looks whose protagonists were gowns from the Atelier Pronovias 2017 Preview Collection. Micaela shared: “I love the combination of materials. I think the Spanish heritage of the brand is so beautifully showcased in a lot of the designs, whether it’s the lace or the various fabrics that are chosen, and the silhouette… I mean it’s just a beautiful confection!” Each look was conceived from her versatile and fresh perspective, offering brides uniquely inspired bridal looks divided into three main style groups: Cosmopolitan, Hollywood Glamour, and Romantic.
For her Cosmopolitan style, Micaela choose Emmet, Emelia, Elma and Elmira gowns. These are mainly crepe, mermaid silhouette dresses with gemstone embroidered detailing and incredible backs that add sparkle and sophistication. Micaela accompanied these figure skimming dresses with smoky eyes and hair styled in a low bun.
CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR LOOK
The distinguished Classic Hollywood Glamour look features an excellent combination of tulle and lace that shows off the figure and give hints of the bride’s silhouette. Feminine, spectacular dresses with beautiful hand crafted details are a wonderful choice for highly refined brides wanting real red carpet glamour. Designs such as Elvira, Estela, Elva and Edith, with its large detachable skirt, were chosen by the stylist as examples of this exquisite style. This time, the makeup looks chosen to complete the overall style included red lips and endless lashes, while the hair was a ’40s style wave.
The Romantic style consisted of A-line dresses, extra-long skirts and unique combinations of Chantilly lace and tulle. Genuine works of art such as Elideth, Elaia, Eludia and Edina are romantic dreams come true for enchanting brides. Micaela Erlanger created a total look for these brides with a messy up-do and very subtle makeup. To get this look, the stylist recommended adding pearl or floral accessories to these special dresses, such as the Pitimini headdress, the Aliso comb and the Aliso headband.
Back in April we were fortunate enough to see these gowns up close during Barcelona Bridal Week, and the quality is unparalleled. If you haven’t take a look already, be sure to head over to Pronovias’ website and take a look at the full Atelier Pronovias 2017 Collection!
