Rustic Chic Georgia Wedding

This Georgia wedding showcases two important marriages: the one between the gorgeous Jill and Lucas, and the one between rustic and whimsical sophistication. The veritable treasure trove of vendors included Caroline Fontenot Photographer, Signature Wedding & Events, and Virtu Floral Design, to name a few, who all pulled their weight to make this sweet wedding a home run.

From the bride, Jill: Lucas and I both wanted our wedding to be intimate and personal but also a huge party for our friends and family. Early on in the wedding planning process, we booked our venue, Vinewood Plantation, near my hometown in Georgia. We let the venue set the tone for the event and decided that we wanted to plan a rustic yet sophisticated wedding. We prioritized what was important to us: food and drinks, great music, and a beautiful venue. The rest of the details somehow fell into place!

It was really important to us that the wedding have our own personal touch. We incorporated several DIY elements to our wedding, like our photo booth backdrop and props, the corn hole boards, peach preserve favors, directional sign, and cake stands. My best friend, mom, grandmother, and aunt all helped with the crafting — it was definitely a labor of love in that way. My bouquet was wrapped in my late great grandmother’s handkerchief and was secured with my late grandmother’s brooch, and I loved honoring my family in that way. We also opted to incorporate some of our favorite songs in the ceremony rather than using traditional wedding marches. We did decide to use traditional vows but then read personal letters to each other, which made the ceremony feel incredibly personal and intimate. The entire wedding felt so special and it was, by far, the best day of our lives.
