White Barn Wedding

White Barn Wedding

This wedding suits us just perfectly for spring, with its bright coral hues, fabric streamers, and beyond adorable kitty cat cake pops. We’re pretty keen on the couple’s “anniversary pinata” idea as a guestbook – be sure to check it out! Thanks to Hot Metal Studio and Elaine Pisarcik for doing such gorgeous work here.

From the bride, Haley: We met in middle school and wanted to go with a crafty paper homemade wedding, to symbolize simplicity and our childhood together! We tied in some school day themes with the brown paper lunch bags, and his hand written notes from middle school made an appearance. He loves to camp, so our flag tee pee and cake topper were very boy scout/summer camp looking haha 🙂 We both loved the rustic feel to the barn and knew immediately that’s what we wanted when we walked in! For the floral design, we used lots of succulents and we were going with the wildflower mint and coral look. We wanted the flowers to be loose and flow-y and some even drape down the bouquet… our florist rocked!

Our colors were mint, coral, and sparkly gold! We crafted for months for the wedding! (Thanks mom!!) Here are some of the DIY projects: A light up LOVE marquee sign, spray painted gold, a tee pee arbor with blue and coral flags (Chad made!), wooden pallet bar (Chad made!), a ripped fabric banner for the bridal table, and my all time favorite… our light up frame that was hanging behind our seats at the bridal table… the frame was mint and we had the globe marquee lights outlining the frame. Inside of the frame were hearts, the hearts were all the notes that Chad had written me from middle school… some of them even saying “Someday you’ll be Mrs. Helbling.” How cute!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Take it SLOW! Everyone always says “Oh honey it goes by so fast” ..and even though I didn’t want to listen it totally flew by. Make sure you have a wonderful photographer (which we did) because they will capture every moment you may have missed while chatting with your man’s Aunt Susie.
