Elegant Palm Springs Wedding

If ever there was a wedding that screamed “Palm Springs elegance,” this would be the one. We’ve got a team of wedding professionals who are no strangers to the Palm Springs scene, and knocked this wedding far out the park – including Dave Richards, Celebrations of Joy, and Arrangements just to name a few.

From the bride, Amanda: We wanted something that was both elegant and romantic with a modern twist. We also wanted to keep our wedding small (less than 65 people) and therefore it was important that we made our wedding venues feel as intimate as possible.

I would say that our color scheme was a mix of purples, black, white, silver, and green. Since all of our spaces were outside, we felt that incorporating natural elements like olive branches, artichokes, succulents etc. would enrich our design as well as accentuate and offset the types of flowers we both liked (dahlias, garden roses, peonies.) As far as adjectives go, I would repeat what was written above… elegant, romantic, modern, intimate. I would even say that we wanted to create a fairytale-like feel with the bistro lighting, staggered candle displays, and votives. As for DIY projects, the only one that we did was to write a poem, frame it, and display it next to our wedding favors to encourage guests to take their gift – white pashmina scarves. Additionally, we decided to write our own ceremony. We used traditional vows, but changed just about everything else and had Peter’s Father officiate (He obtained a one day certification.)

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Don’t spend too much on the small details. Chances are most people won’t notice that you had your place cards done by a calligrapher or that your cake had 3 tiers instead of 2, etc. Also, the most important thing to remember is that a wedding is a celebration of love – so don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t forget to celebrate, have fun, enjoy every minute!
