Clark Gardens Wedding

When you’re hoping for an intimate wedding day but have 300 guests to accommodate, you know you’ve got quite the task ahead of yourself. Luckily, Precious Creations was willing and able, pulling off an absolutely stunning Texas wedding day with blooms from Stems of Dallas and images done by none other than Jennifer Crenshaw Photography!

From the bride, Ashley: I’ve always loved watercolors, flowers galore, lace and glitter. I wanted the wedding to feel intimate even though we were having close to 300 people. Springtime in North Texas is beautiful and normally the weather is nice so we wanted an outdoor wedding. If I could sum up our wedding it would be romantic, natural and personal. Having an outdoor garden wedding the goal was to take advantage of the beauty around us and plus it up with our favorite things. Our color scheme was yellow, gray with shades of pink.

Almost the entire wedding was DIY and I got everyone involved from myself, coworkers, mothers, the groom, groomsman, my niece and some bridesmaids. All of the paper items: invitations, programs, table ‘Thank You’ cards, bar menu’s, honey labels and dessert table signs were created by a friend of the bride, Katie. I’ve been having an obsession with light up marquee signs but they are CRAZY expensive. My mother is wonderful and made me a marquee sign from a how-to on pinterest. I also wanted to add a little glitz to the tent so my mom, niece and I mod podged lanterns in silver glitter. At the last minute I wanted a welcome sign in the entrance and one of my bridesmaids is crazy talented and water color painted a sign for me.

One favorite thing we wanted to include was our favorite desserts. So our moms and my grandmother made all of our favorites. Peanut butter chocolate balls, Martha Washington’s (coconut, almonds and chocolate), wedding cookies, forget me not cookies, lemon squares. We brought in cotton candy and macaroons as well. My mom wanted to give me my something old so she took her veil and made it into my veil and to add a little glam to my hairstyle made my headband herself. (Let’s just say the one I found online I wanted was $250 and this cost less than $30!)

The week of is crazy so make sure you’ve got most of the big things out of the way so you can focus on how exciting it is to marry the love of your life. Keep yourself healthy. We focused so much on getting everything done it never crossed our mind to take care of ourselves. Hello strep throat 6 days before the wedding. And finally, have fun. Things WILL go wrong at your wedding. In all of the planning we didn’t have any plates to serve dinner or cake. Day of I laughed about it as my wedding planner ran to Walmart, a week later I was horrified thinking that was how people would remember our wedding, but now, all I can do is shake my head and smile. People ate (a little late) but when all was said and done… we were married!
