Robinswood House Seattle Wedding

Pure art — that’s exactly what these images from One Love photo are. Newlyweds John and Desiree wanted a wedding full of color, lush gardens, and affection for their friends and family, and it seems pretty safe to say they achieved this tenfold. How absolutely incredible is Desiree’s floral crown from Ravenna Blooms?

From the bride, Desiree: John has always loved being in nature and beautiful gardens, so I knew we needed to have a lush scenery. I wanted lots of color to highlight the beauty of our lives together and the warmth we feel from our friends and family. I wanted everything to feel full of life. I also love the look of something weathered and worn juxtaposed with natural beauty.

I loved searching thrift stores, antique stores and eBay for handkerchiefs and tablecloths. It was so satisfying to look at different materials and not having any of them “match” yet seeing how they all tied in together. It was so great to make each “birdhouse” and selecting what bird would go in each jar. Also, putting together the idea, finding and painting the frames that hung as our backdrop- it turned out even more beautiful then I ever imagined.

The most memorable moment for me was walking down the isle with my son. He was so proud to have such an important role and as we walked I could feel his excitement- and then looking up and seeing John and my daughter and my family all waiting for me, made me feel so full of love I could barely contain myself. I will never forget looking at them and feeling so much pure happiness.

My advice for others is to find someone you completely trust to help you that day. Once you can let go of the reins and pass on duties to someone else it frees you up to enjoy your day. The day of your wedding you should wake up and just feel relaxed in knowing everything will work out- and that it will just be what it is- there is no “perfect” wedding, and if you let go of thinking that it needs perfection and that you need to cater to everyone else you will be happy and in the moment… and don’t forget to have some healthy snacks!

  • Wow, these pictures are amazing! Everyone looks fabulous, from the bride’s floral crown to the fruit accents on the cake, to the beautiful lush environment! ? ?

  • I love the flower girl/junior bridesmaid! My flower girl is about that old, maybe a little older, and I love the idea of having a younger lady in the wedding party. 🙂

  • Lovely wedding! The dress is gorgeous and the little gir’s matching outfits are very pretty.

I’d like to have seen the frames behind the ceremony site hung with clear fishing line instead of twine, so they would have a floating quality.
