Real {vintage} Wedding

When I first saw Laura’s knot planning bio, I knew her wedding was going to be awesome. I’ll be taking tomorrow off, but I’ll leave with you plenty of wedding eye candy.

Thanks so much Laura for sharing your wedding photos and resources!

Invitations/Programs/Table Numbers/Menus/Donation Cards: Etsy-artist Heather Toupin. Co-designed by both Heather & myself – screened by Ms. Toupin. 🙂

Day-of Bag w/buttons: pouch was a vintage-store find, attached to a bead-bracelet – pins by Etsy-artist Button Empire

Save the Date patch (sewn on day-of hoodie): Etsy-artist Chakra Pennywhistle

Bridal Jewelry: Etsy-artist Nanda. Amazingly-affordable fresh water pearl jewelry from Taiwan!

Flowers: Jim DiMarino, Golf Srithamrong – Eventgarde Presents (eventgarde.com)

I went w/all creams and blushes for our color palette – very sweet, soft and clean. Jim DiMarino and Golf Srithamrong were GODSENDS. Armed w/notepads and sheer-genius, we conferenced numerous times @ the Metropolitan Building, throwing around ideas and talking candles (of which there were to be MANY!). These two spotted things about the space I would have NEVER thought of – for instance, they noted that the sun would be shining in directly on our guests during the ceremony so they fashioned an ivory gauze curtain behind us during our vows. Another amazing bonus of using the Metropolitan Building was that since the nature of the venue is that of an antique warehouse, you were encouraged to go through all of the amazing antique pieces in their storage to help decorate for your event! And while antiques are inherently my thing, a Bride needs to know when to delegate duties 🙂 so I entrusted this detail in Jim & Golf… they certainly didn’t disappoint.

Nike Tongue-Tags: Etsy artist Monde Design

Matt is a HUGE sneaker-head so there was absolutely no-question as to what his Groomsmen gifts might be. We collected all of the Groomsmen’s shoe sizes and set out to find a Nike dunk in an ivory color-way… impossible? Almost. We lucked out in finding our chosen shoe, ordered them all in bulk from PickYourShoes.com and then had the personalized tongue-tags made by Shelli Moon of Monde Design – she has recently taken over the Garter Maker website where she makes not only garters but monogrammed dress-tags and, well, just about anything you may need stitched up!

Bridesmaid’s Dresses: BCBG Max Azria

I always knew I wanted some sort of patterned dress for my girls (I have never been a fan of the traditional Bridesmaid-selection provided by Bridal boutiques) and this one was the 1st I discovered in my dress-search from the Spring 2007 BCBG line. Then when it came time to decide, in Jan 2008, I went right back to this one. Bonus: w/Spring 2008 then rolling out, casting Spring 2007 out of stores, each one of my girls found her dress on eBay for under $100 (retail price of the dress was $360!).

Little Pug in my bouquet – vintage jeweled brooch from eBay.
