Portuguese Beach Wedding

Anyone who knows me is well aware that I’m a sucker for a good destination wedding, and any time Piteira Photography sends over a feature from their homeland of Portugal, I can’t help but do a little happy dance. Como Branco Wedding Concepts jumped on board to style Catarina and Rui’s wedding day on a Portuguese beach, which in no way disappointed.

From the bride, Catarina: It was the most amazing and exciting day of our lives. Well… the rain and the clouds started to threaten our plans of having an unforgettable wedding on the beach. Our hope that everything would be alright flew away with the wind… at some point the weather was so bad that we were hopeless and we finally accepted the idea of having a wet ceremony 🙂 However, it turned out that the angels were with us. Everything went perfectly and the sun could not have been brighter. All the emotions were running high, from the moment I took my shoes off and walked side by side with my father on the sand, until the moment I saw my future husband with tears in his eyes waiting for me (it is a picture that I will remember for the rest of my days).

We finally got married around 4:30pm with the blessing of our beloved family and friends from around the world. Today, we feel very grateful for having the opportunity to share this moment with the most important people in our lives. We tried to bring part of us into our wedding. All the details were carefully considered – e.g. the beach and the ride on the Vespa which made our day special as it is how we go around the city in a sunny day. The reception was long and we partied hard… until 8am… in the end we were exhausted but beyond happy to be married and ready to live happily ever after!
