Poetry Inspired Wedding Shoot
It’s difficult to imagine a more romantic basis for a styled wedding shoot than a celebration of poetry, so it’s no surprise this photo session from Treehouse Photography, Raechel of laceandlikes, and siren floral co is nothing sure of complete perfection. The photographer is a poet himself, Tyler Knott Gregson to be precise, and wrote the poem around which this shoot is based. Let’s fall in love, shall we?
From the stylist, Raechel of laceandlikes: The shoot was inspired by a friend and the photographer Tyler Knott and his poetry. The poem reads “maybe I was born with you inside me. Maybe I have always carried you with me. Maybe you are all the wild in me.” It was one of my favorites from the time I started following his words. I knew I had to run with it for the shoot. I wanted the aesthetic to be dark and romantic and of course, wild.
Basing the color scheme around black, I then decided the florals should be bright and loose to pop on the black background. I chose matte black plates from hostesshaven, black and gold glass and flatware, and spray painted vessels matte black for the table. Black on black on black was the idea with pops of gold, burgundy, purples, greens, and some other punchy colors. Edgy, but soft and beautiful at the same time. I am so happy with how everything turned out and the dress from ouma artfully crafted with a black leather bodice and silk chiffon skirt could not have fit the shoot concept more perfectly. Overall, should I ever marry my manfriend, it would look something like this and it was so fun to see it come to life.
