Patricia + Dennis’s Surrealist Session

This engagement session is off the hook! Inspired by this painting, the couple fearlessly trusted the talented photographer Caroline Ghetes‘s idea and incorporated coffee bean bags into the shoot, along with a vintage mask and other props I have never seen in an engagement session before. I truly believe that a photographer’s creative freedom is always for the best interest of the couple, and it never fails. I am in awe with the result!

From Caroline:
Originally, their idea was to do a “The Notebook” inspired shoot, in a more modern way and we accomplished that with about half the pictures. I’ve also always wanted to inject a few strange ideas into an engagement session with a willing couple and some of these ideas/concepts were inspired by one of my favorite artists: Rene Magritte. In so many ways, we are alike in that the type of photography that I love the most, are the ones that when the viewer looks at a photo, they are left confused. Non-sensical & whimsical poses with no idea or concept or story behind it.

I am sad I was too busty for the Corey Lynn Calter corseted striped dress, but she pulls it off beautifully.

All I can say is WOW! What a “gutsy” and artsy photo shoot. I have never seen anything like it. Congrats and all the best to Dennis and Patricia. If you haven’t checked out their wedding pics on here and that FABULOUS wedding trailer video (it left me in tears), it’s a MUST! Absolutely gorgeous couple, venue, and wedding with incredible attention to detail. My fiance’ and I are planning a small intimate vintage-themed wedding…just us actually. We’ve both been married before. However, if I could have another “real” wedding, I’d be inspired to have something as close to their as possible (sans the shoes…I’m 47…LOL). ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
