Palm Springs Desert Wedding

What’s not to love about a wedding with cactus and succulents popping up here and there? Diana and Jeff’s wedding was the perfect meld of desert minimalism and romantic garden, right in the heart of Palm Springs, California. The always-incredible EPLove was on hand to capture every detail to a T:

From the bride, Diana: Initially we wanted a modern, desert-inspired wedding, but after finding our location – the lush Cree Estate in Palm Springs – we fell in love with its rustic, romantic gardens framed by contrasting desert mountains in the distance. The feel was intimate and sweet with plenty of space and sky.

We chose colors that reflected natural desert elements: sand, stone, dusty greens, with pops of magenta and yellow to reflect cactus flowers in bloom. We had many, MANY DIY projects, from invitations, website, ceremony decor including the silk magenta blossoms on the cacti and the cacti themselves (which we grew from seedlings!), to designing temporary tattoos, flower arranging, the guest seating list (a refinished old door with chalkboard panes), etc, etc.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? You may think that you need everything to be perfect the day of your wedding, but it’s much more important to ENJOY the day of your wedding! Be selective with your DIY projects rather than try to do everything yourself. This means accepting help from others and letting go of certain things.

  • So incredibly beautiful! Definetly my favorite part aboe all else is the box pleats (if that’s the right term?) at the bottom of the skirt on Diana’s dress. That is precisely what I have always wanted and I have never seen it on a real dress before, only in my imagination. It is just as wonderful as I have always dreamed. I am only bummed that the first time I am seeing it is not on my own dress! Ha! I will of course take comfort in the fact that the silhouette of the gown is not what I fantasized about, although it looks absolutely carved out for her body. It is INCREDIBLE. I love it. I love every part of it. One of the best gowns I have ever seen on a real person before. I just LOVE It. I would adore photographing it!

  • I absolutely LOVE shooting at the Cree Estate! Thanks so much for sharing this wedding of ours. Your kindness is always mega appreciated!
