Little Borrowed Dress

Sponsored

Photos by:

So it’s tradition for brides to wear ‘something borrowed’ on their wedding day, but what if that lovely tradition extended to bridesmaids too? We know how expensive it can be to be a bridesmaid, which is why we are in love with Little Borrowed Dress and the practical and fashionable service they offer! They are the first online wedding boutique to offer bridesmaid dresses for rent, starting at just $50, giving brides the opportunity to choose a picture perfect dress at a price that all their bridesmaids can afford.

Little Borrowed Dress has a fantastic selection of beautiful dresses to suite every taste and with a rental price tag starting at $50, the option can’t be beat! If you really love the dress and want to hang on to it for the long haul, all of their styles are for sale too, starting at $150! All of the dresses are 100% silk and manufactured locally in the Garment District in New York City, which is an aspect we just adore! They have a range of shapes and colors to flatter all figures, designed with built-in adjustment points for a perfect fit. If you are still worried about fit, they send a free second size with every order! And you can request a free fabric swatch on their site here. For brides in the NY area, their showroom is open seven days week to come try on dresses before you order.

The borrowing process is simple and stress-free. Simply place your rental reservation online and the dress will arrive two weeks before the wedding ready-to-wear. After the big day, drop them in the mail in the pre-paid packaging and they handle the rest! The best part is the bridesmaids get to return the dresses, so their memories are of how fun the wedding was and not the once-worn dress gathering dust in their closet.

Little Borrowed Dress is hosting a Pinterest contest through September 7th, where you can win free dresses for your bridal party by pinning your wedding inspiration. For more details and to enter to win, check out their blog post about the contest here. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest!

CRIMSON LETTERS

My company, Crimson Letters creates unique hand painted wedding stationery, specialising in opulently painted, heavily illustrated design work, with calligraphy. All items are digitally printed from a master watercolour or acrylic artwork piece and individually and lovingly painted upon. Using only the finest papers and card stock sourced from London And Paris.

I’m a British designer with a degree in textile design, artist and a person with a passion for intricate creativity who’s inspired by all fine things, whether it’s food, interiors or architecture. I’m influenced heavily by my love of travelling, my rich heritage and travelling frequently through the Mediterranean where I have family in Portugal and Paris. I’m exhilarated and humbled by the beauty of this world. Bringing these ideas back to my design studio, each piece is fuelled from the cultures across the world.

I enjoy bringing a fresh decadent approach to wedding invitations, which are a timeless medium. I have always loved weddings and seeing the bride in her white dress has always been a magical moment for me. I feel completely over the moon to be able to create irreplaceable memoirs that the bride can look back on one day with a huge smile.

When I’m not busy in my design studio, I love exploring new parts of Europe, trying to improve my hopelessly basic French and Portuguese skiing, cross stitching, kissing my sons, watching period dramas and painting whilst drinking copious amounts of tea.

Handmade Oregon Wedding

Rustic Weddings

Photos by:

Sara and Josh’s wedding shot by Anna Jaye Photography is just about the perfect blend of masculine and feminine elements — wooden details mixed with lush pink and orange floral arrangements from Lamb’s Palisades Floral. One of my personal favorite aspects of this wedding is that bride Sara allowed her personality to shine through in her reception dress, opting for a bright coral number to match her maids!

bride and groom

From the bride, Sara: We envisioned a fun laid back event where our family and friends could celebrate with us on our big day!

I really loved coral and wanted bright festive colors to go along with that color! It was too hard to narrow down to two colors so I had many colors including: red, yellow, orange, blue, and kraft brown. Some DIY projects included: poms, table runners, napkin rings, banners, and CRANES! We folded 1000 cranes to honor my Japanese heritage. The tradition states that it is good luck to fold 1000 cranes so Josh and I folded many and it was great how so many loved ones volunteered to help and brought together everyone to contribute a little something to our special day.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Don’t lose perspective. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the hundreds of things on our “to do list” to prepare for the wedding that we forget why we are melting down over something as silly as napkin colors! At the end of the day, we are still marrying the love of our life so just enjoy it!

From the photographer, Anna Jaye Photography: Sara and Josh’s wedding day was a wonderful reflection of the two of them; sweet, sincere and laid back. These two have an obvious and easy connection that’s a lot of fun to photograph. They created a beautiful celebration for their guests that centered on the special connection between the two of them. The playful details and beautiful location just added to the magic of this awesome day.
