Organic Farm Wedding

This wedding submitted by Sacramento based photographer Emily Heizer sums up pretty much everything I love about farm weddings. They are intimate, laidback and charming – which feel effortless above all. I am smitten by the “Chapel” sign above Erin and Matt’s ceremony arch!

From Erin:

We chose an old barn in the orchard where Erin grew up – her family has been growing nuts in the little town of Winters , California since 1944. We transformed the old barn into a fantastic party with the help of beautiful tents and lighting, farm tables and lounge furniture, and homegrown fresh fruit centerpieces using Erin’s grandmother’s wedding china to feature fresh picked (that morning!) apricots and cherries, which doubled as favors with the addition of hand stamped paper bags. The reception was beautiful but what really made our day unique was the private ceremony we had immediately before the reception in the middle of the orchard, surrounded by our immediate family, the best woman, and the maid of honor, under the walnut trees and a hand painted “chapel” sign.

Ahhh-mazing! I’m loving the fusion of glamour and rustic, it makes this wedding wonderfully quirky and beautiful. My faves are the “notes” mailbox, the beer bathtub, and the vintage signs. Perfection!

This farm wedding is definitely after my own heart. My husband’s family owns a dairy farm and we did our first look there… it was amazing. I wish our wedding could have been there and something like this. It’s so fun and beautiful!

Is your family open to having other weddings there? I have been looking all over for something just like this!

Yes I have the same question as Alex and dallas. I am looking for almond trees or plum/cherry/nectarine trees to get the blossom in the picture but I had envision somehting similar to how you did you ceremony in the middle of the orchard. If not, then do you parent know anyone else who may be open to haveing weddings at their farm?

    Best wishes and congratulations!

I was just wondering if this barn is rented to the public? I have been searching and searching for the perfect barn location and I havent found one anywhere! Im planning a vintage/chic wedding for about 50 people and this barn is gorgeous. Please contact me if renting this location is an option.
    thank you

I have the same question, would you family be willing to let others rent their property? I have been on the hunt for the rustic location locally.

Love this wedding! I’ve been looking at different sites for inspiration and I saw this and THIS is what I’ve been looking for. I have the same question as the ladies above, do you parents rent out the barn for weddings or do you know anyone who has such a set up that rents out their barn/orchard? My fiance is in the culinary field so something like this (he wants to provide our own food) would be perfect! We are thinking bbq but not your average bbq. I really LOVE your wedding pics!
