Remember this fabulous DIY wedding we shared this past winter shot by Ryan Ray? Today they are back to share their newlywed session – such a fun way to have lifestyle portraits of you and your hubby, and it’s a sweet before-during-after-wedding series! Ryan set up a small session in Rhode Island during their road trip this summer. View all images from this shoot in the gallery!
From Tracy: Doug and I were married last December, and decided there was no better way to spend our first summer as newlyweds than on a road trip. We are both teachers so we had six long weeks of travel time, driving from Florida to New York with many stops along the way (one of the most important being Doug’s brother’s wedding in Rhode Island!). We’ve always loved travel (we actually found the giant pine cone during our first camping trip together!), so the theme for our photo shoot with Ryan was easy to decide. We also incorporated some teaching elements, like the old books I picked up at a free teacher resource center. We spent some time on the Appalachian Trail during our road trip, which is where we found the two heart-shaped rocks (we collect rocks from every place we visit as souvenirs!). My sister-in-law and I made the paper airplanes with maps of every state Doug and I drove through during our trip. The suitcases were actually Doug’s parents’ wedding gift when they were married. Lastly, Moon River is one of my favorite songs, and we thought the lyrics symbolized just what our trip was about — traveling to places we had never been and spending the summer together.
