What could be sweeter than exchanging vows in the same spot where you had your first date? Paige and Jordan were able to do just that, choosing Tempe’s Center of the Arts as the venue for their rustic-meets-modern-meets-whimsical wedding day. The talented Session Nine Photographers and Kathy Montgomery of Something Old, Something Older were close by to make it all a jaw-dropping vision, and we’re just wild about how it all turned out!
From the bride, Paige: We wanted to have an “adventure”-themed wedding with a fun, eclectic style. We envisioned woodsy and whimsical decor that gave a playful and romantic feel. The venue we got married at was actually a performing arts center where we had our first official date and shared countless other memories, so it was a special spot and we wanted our guests to feel that too.
The primary wedding colors were mint green and coral, although there were multiple colors tied into the details. Our bouquets were a mixture of fresh and silk flowers actually and were made by our wedding decorator. I’m not sure of the exact names of each flower, although I know there were peach/coral roses and sunflowers (my favorite flower) in the bride’s bouquet. I wanted a “wildflower” feel for all the flower arrangements so each one was a little different from the other.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Don’t stress over the small details. Remember the big picture, and what makes your wedding day the most beautiful and special are the people you’re celebrating with and the significance of what you’re celebrating… you’re marrying your best friend! Your guests won’t remember all the small details but they will remember the joy they shared with you so don’t try to make everything perfect. Also, on the big day, take moments throughout to stop, look around, and soak it all in. It can go so fast so truly enjoy and embrace every minute, even during the planning stage!
