Minted Stationery + Giveaway!
Anyone keeping an eye on spring fashion trends (or even on pinterest!) knows that neon is in, and it’s here to stay. When you put together neon and the phenomenal stationers at Minted, you have what we like to call a win-win. This month they’re adding an expansive collection of wedding invitations and more with bold pops of orange, hot pink, and yellow. To say we’re smitten is an understatement. They’re also running a fab giveaway, read on for the deets!
Good-bye lemons, hello oranges! Honeysuckle has gone the way of 2011 and the New Year is all about Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s 2012 color of the year. Luckily, Minted has plenty of wedding stationery from their stable of indie designers from all over the world that look great in orange. Minted hosts monthly design challenges that any designer can enter so they really have dozens and dozens of aesthetics—there really is something for everyone, but everything is exceptionally fresh and current!
And of course any bright colors (think neon!) are super in right now, thanks to the runway’s influence on wedding stationery. Those bright colors, or whatever colors you choose, will look even more stunning on Minted’s thick, luxurious paper stock. Here, ‘The Happy Couple’ by R Studio, out of Syracuse, NY, color really takes the cake, capitalizing on clean design and lots of empty space.

I have to say that my favorite wedding trend is that its becoming perfectly acceptable to not do some of the more traditional wedding things if they just dont fit you. It truly makes the wedding fit the couple, as opposed to trying to fit the couple into the wedding pre-conceived ideas.
I love the trend of weddings being so much more personal these days. They are feeling more intimate and family oriented. Originally I knew that’s what I wanted my wedding to be like and after finding blogs such as Ruffled Blog, I realized it wasn’t as unique as I had thought (which in many ways is quite nice because this blog has helped me immensely) but it’s also great to see people putting so much heart & soul into their special day!!!

A favorite wedding color combination would be the creamy neutrals complimenting the bride’s white! In so far as wedding trends I love the idea of the “after party” table, the one that has the bride and groom’s favorite things. Hot dogs, chicken fingers, Mexican coke, popcorn,candy assortment, etc. What fun it is to have this available for the end of a wonderful celebration.
I am all about chevron as of late. Chevron in seafoam, greyish blue hues or blush and gold…*sigh.

I really love all the outdoor wedding trends, combined with DIY, and you have a great picnic-y feel. I love that it is more about having fun and being together than something fussy. And I love reds, oranges, and purples together, which is what we had in our Save the Dates (from Minted!).

I think I love that whimsy is being incorporated in weddings these days. When I first got out of college and went to a ton of weddings, many seemed very similar. Now, there is so much color and personalization…every wedding is different and visually interesting.
I’ve been spending the past few weeks looking (and oggling) over the invites at Minted — originally just looking at ones that were yellow, but now all of them once I realized how customizable they are.
I love the way the colors pop. How the vintage look mixes with some of the bold modern invitations. Can’t wait to send them out when I win. Positivity is key and I’m putting it out there to the universe what I want!

My favorite wedding trend will likely always be the photo booth. I am a picture fiend, and the photo booth really helps round out the collection of wedding photos. It really allows the couple to have fun and lasting photos of not only themselves and the decor, but also their guests.

I love all the new, non-traditional color combinations; like dark teal blues with blush pink, or navy and bright tangerine! Using the darker colors as “neutrals” with a pop of bright color is my favorite!

I love the save the dates with pictures. We had such wonderful engagement pictures done and we really want to incorporate them into our invitations so that our friends and family will have a picture to hang proudly on their fridge long after the wedding and the invitation is no longer needed.

My favorite wedding color is Tangerine Tango! Before I heard that was the color of the year from Patone, I chose orange to accompany dark purple at my Jamaican private island wedding in 2013. I’m so excited to bring the colors of the sunset into my seaside soiree! We plan to use orange, or tangerine tango, to up the tropical factor by using flowers, paddle fans (purchased from TheKnot.com wedding shop) and other still secret details. I love, love, LOVE Minted.com and have been scoping their site for the perfect invites, and I only need about 50, so this would be perfect. Fingers Crossed!
I envision a “cozy” theme for my wedding- I, too, love how the trends have shifted to having personalized & intimate weddings! As for colors, we’re going with a light grey, pastel yellow and lavender palette!

I’m loving the peacock feather trend. It’s not that I like peacocks all that much, but their feathers incorporate my and my fiance’s favorite colors so nicely: blue and green. We are, in fact, having a blue and green wedding and I’m sure peacock feathers will make an appearance.

Ombre has always been a favourite of mine, you can’t go wrong with different shades of your favourite hue. Colour wise, I’d go for different shades of grey in an ombre style, but incorporate peaches and pinks for an added pop! Romance & Shabby Chic is a trend I will forever be in love with :) xoxo
