Long Beach Museum Wedding

Within seconds of seeing this wedding from Dave Richards, I knew I had to share it with you all. Lorena and Richard’s Long Beach wedding is outdoor rustic in the absolute chicest of ways, with an ideal color scheme of teals, pinks, and oranges.

From the bride, Lorena: We’ve always wanted an outdoor ceremony/reception. We didn’t want a typical, traditional wedding. I have always loved the rustic/antique look and knew right away that it was the feel we wanted for our wedding.

Our wedding felt magical! We chose to go with an outdoor rustic theme. Our decorations consisted of blue mason jars, burlap, wooden tree trunks, and succulents. We wanted a color palette that would compliment both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, something not too masculine yet not too feminine. We chose a very soft blue for the bridesmaids dresses and decided to compliment their dresses with blush tone bouquets. For the center pieces we thought the blue mason jars with the wooden tree trunks would look beautiful with a mix of coral, bright pink flowers, and succulents.

Our many DIY projects included the wooden tree trunks for center pieces and cakes, burlap runners with lace, the Mr. & Mrs. sign/Montejano Wedding sign, the succulent favors, the table numbers, candle holders, our wooden ring box, banner for cake and bird cage.

Wedding Music:
Bridal Party Processional: “Make You Feel My Love,” The O’Neill Brothers
Bride’s Processional: “I Won’t Give Up,” Jason Mraz
We had two songs in mind for our first dance and couldn’t decide on just one. So what we did was dance to his song, “Sweetest Love” by Robin Thicke for our first dance, and “Amazed” by Lonestar, which was my pick, for the last song.

  • Goodness, this is gorgeous! I love all the colors, and the stunning photography gives this a muted dream-like quality to the day! My congrats to the happy couple!

  • This wedding is gorgeous! I love all of the details. Did the bride purchase the gold glittered vases or are they a DIY project? If so, I would love to know what type of vases she used and the method she used for the gold glitter and the peach paint to really stand out? Also, where did she purchase the table numbers from?
    Thank you 🙂

    • Hi Selena! Thank you so much for your sweet words. My florist actually made the gold glitter vases. You can probably just use any clear/light-colored glass/ceramic vase to do it. On the peach jars, I poured cheap acrylic paint inside the jars and swirled it around until it covered the glass. Then I turned them upside down so the excess paint would drip out. Its not waterproof inside, but you can always get paint that is. I actually made the table numbers myself with foam board and Martha Stewart glitter. Feel free to email me if you have any other DIY questions! 🙂
