Canadian Backyard Wedding

This relaxed Ontario wedding is all about style. Matthew from This Moment Forever sent me this wedding and I knew at first glance this one was so Ruffled. Their intimate affair took place at Kristin’s parents’ backyard in Ontario, Canada. Favors and most of the decor were made by Kristin, another great point such lovely DIY, budget conscious wedding. The groom, Andrew, wore jeans – an idea that I am sure many grooms out there will consider after seeing this!

Gown: Bridal Couture by Carma (Port Credit, Mississauga, ON)
Caterer: Howard the Butcher (Caledon East, ON)
Tent: Party Magic (Bolton, ON)

A few words from Kristin’s mom about her daughter and son-in-law’s wedding day:

The entire wedding (preparation, ceremony, photo shoot, and reception) took place at Kristin’s parent’s house, located in the country north of Brampton, Ontario. The ceremony was simple; the seats were bails of straw draped in white sheets; Andrew (the groom) built a rustic fence for a backdrop; the music was performed by Kristin’s family and friends (she’s one of eleven children, and they’re all quite musical). The photo shoot took place a few meters away from the ceremony on a grassy hill, and a few more choice spots (like a crumbly old house and some broken down walls) were also on location.

The reception was in a tent at the bottom of the hill – again, just a few minutes walk from the ceremony. The tent was surrounded by game areas, so the guests could play things like horseshoes and croquet while they mingled during cocktail hour. The decorations and favours were done by Kristin and her family (like the homemade applesauce and strawberry jam) as well as all the treats on the dessert table.

Big thanks to Matt from This Moment Forever for sending this incredible wedding!
