Industrial Wedding in Shreveport

Today’s wedding, shared with us by the talented Brandi Smyth and Mandy Cathey, brings together the best of industrial and romantic style. Bride Caroline wanted her wedding day to be natural and airy, so an outdoor wedding was the perfect solution. Add in an industrial reception space with lofty ceilings and plenty of windows, and you’ve got a beautiful day for the books.

From the bride, Caroline: We were going for a traditional southern wedding! With it being April and an outside wedding we wanted everything to be natural and airy. Our color scheme was mint green and cream with blush and gold accents. We didn’t have much DIY going on! I’m not very crafty and was finishing up dental school while planning the wedding. We did incorporate a lot of pieces that belong to family members. The buffet at the altar is my mom’s and the china on the wedding party table was my great grandmothers! One DIY project my mom did for me was the picture charms tied on my bouquet of family members that had passed away and couldn’t be there with us!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? My advice to couples planning now would be don’t get bogged down with the details. At the end of our planning there were several small details I wanted and almost gave up on but am so glad I stuck to what I wanted! It made our day much more personal and our guests really appreciated the small touches!
