Greece Destination Wedding

If you wanted me to name my favorite destination wedding locations, Greece would no doubt be at the top of the list. I mean really, just take one look at this wedding film from Matteo Castelluccia and photos from Gianluca & Mari Adovasio and try telling me you wouldn’t hop onto the next plane headed for the Greek countryside (or coast)!

From the bride, Eleana: Our wedding was country chic with a relaxed feeling. As an interior designer myself, I gave all my attention to make my wedding as stylish as possible. I wanted the feel to be vintage and in complete harmony with the location and its surrounding. I started planning a romantic and magic set up and came up with the idea of many rows of tavern lights, kind of a circus feel and then came the idea of the tent. After that came the idea of a flower swing to be hung on top of the wedding cake. Our florist did a wooden sign in laser cut that wrote: “Love is in the air” and it was placed with the swing. The delicate chairs were provided to us from the hotel, the monastery style tables were rented from Stylebox.gr and the rest were custom made (linen, etc).

My color scheme was between linen, lavender, cream and neutral colors, and the same applied for the flowers and all the rest. My initial color inspiration was derived from mini vintage place mats in lace I had from my grandmother. I loved the faded color they had… I ended up placing them on our long dinner tables on top of cut tree trunks. The escort cards were mini tree trunks with numbers painted on them. The menu and the wedding invitation were in light brown kraft paper, wrapped in cream rice paper and tied up with twine in neutral colors. The wedding favors were sachets filled with lavender in cream and lilac and were tied with twine and a mini trunk that had our initials burned on it. The desserts that were served to all our guests were vanilla macarons in cream and lavender color with small leaves of lavender on top. Lollipops were made with mini daisies on top.

The buntings for the banquet tables were DIY and the coordinators did them. They were made from canvas fabric. The wedding wood sign was painted from my sister!! And for the wishes we made a wish quilt where all our guests wrote on a piece of fabric and we ended up making this a big quilt with our initials hand embroidered in the middle!
