Romantic Philadelphia Horticulture Center Wedding

Winter weddings can have their tricky moments to plan, but Carrie and Mike carried out their Philadelphia wedding day with such finesse and Redfield Photography skillfully captured all of the goodness on camera. We love that they chose a greenhouse setting and brought in beautiful, deep, jewel red colors and floral arrangements by their event and floral designer, Q|A Events; it brought a fun, vibrant feel to the whole event while keeping in line with the season. This is definitely one ultra-creative way to do a cool-seasoned wedding!

From the bride, Carrie: We envisioned a warm, romantic, bohemian feel for the wedding.  We originally wanted something laid back, but when we picked a winter wedding date we decided to dress it up a little bit while trying to keep the bohemian feel. We didn’t really have a color scheme, but we chose marsala and berry tones for our flowers because we thought it would compliment the greenery in the venue as well as the bridal party attire. We didn’t do any DIY projects, but I worked very closely with the event designers and I think we designed something amazing together!

Flower recipe: Eucalyptus, king protea, garden roses, and peonies.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Start as early as possible and stay organized! Also, when things get overwhelming, make sure you take some time alone with your fiancé to have some fun together. It’s simple, but I think it was the only thing that kept me sane.
