Monochromatic Purple Floral Arrangements

Spring will be here before we know it, and what better color to celebrate with than purple? Christa Rose is with us to share some tips behind her monochromatic arrangements using purple tulips, purple calla lilies, and maiden hair ferns. Thank you to Heather Shane Photography for capturing it all on camera!

Monochromatic flowers can really make a statement at your wedding. Imagine walking into a room where all the flowers are a single color – talk about impact! Sure, blush and white blooms are gorgeous but if you want to really wow your guests, think about picking a single color and repeating throughout your entire wedding. For this flower guide, Christa Rose and Heather Shane Photography decided to go with the color purple.

All the flowers Christa Rose used are CA grown, which means they are WAY fresher and sustainable than any imported flowers you can buy and will last about twice as long, if not longer. Christa Rose used the flowers to create a bouquet and added a green moss collar around the base and hand tied it with a lace ribbon. The bouquet was then deconstructed and Christa Rose created an arrangement using the same exact flowers. She chose a contemporary silver container that really allowed the purple color to pop. As you can see, monochromatic flowers can still give you a lot of texture and movement without having to use a ton of different flowers.

Tips for working and caring for tulips:
-Tulips will continue to grow after they’ve been cut and placed in water. Be sure you cut them a little shorter than the rest of the flowers in your arrangement because they’ll surpass the other flowers in height by the next day.
-Tulips will lean towards the light. Make sure you turn your arrangement every day or so or else all your tulips will end up leaning to one side.
