Modern Covered Bridge Wedding

When you get the chance to get married at a unique venue, you definitely grab the bull by its horns. Take a look at this beautiful wedding photographed by Kimie Grace Photography! Choosing to let the beauty of the venue shine through on its own, Ashley and Braydan added fine touches of string lights, a floral arrangement suspended over the ceremony altar site, and super glam reception, full of beautiful blooms designed by Cambray Rose Florist.

From the bride, Ashley: Ashley and Braydan Young were married on the last three-level covered bridge in the U.S. under a hanging floral arrangement and above a flowing creek. Before the ceremony, refreshments from the bride and groom’s favorite local tea shop were served on the bridge, where guests enjoyed views of the California Butte Mountains. When the curtains opened for Ashley to walk down the aisle, a cappella singers, who sat interspersed with the guests, broke into “One Fine Day” taking the guests by surprise and filling the bridge with the sounds of one of the couple’s favorite songs. Guests used the handmade confetti throwers attached to their wedding programs to shower the newlyweds as they made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife.

For the reception, the bride and groom created a glamorous ambiance and a carefree feeling. At their place settings, guests found tiny photos of them and the bride or groom clipped to their wine glass with a personalized, handwritten welcome note from the couple on the back. Fresh berries and figs dripped from the flower arrangements and cocktails were served at a custom-made walnut and fern leaf bar complete with an inscription of their wedding tagline, “Forever Young,” a nod to the couple’s new shared last name.

Crafty DIYs are always wonderful touches to weddings, especially if you know your way around projects like the bride did! Because the city of Chico is the almond capital of the world, Ashley handmade these seating place cards that also acted as wedding crackers and filled them with almonds. Such a fun ode to the location!
