Mid Century Modern Wedding Inspiration
This wedding inspiration shoot, designed and styled by Jenna Trapasso of Red White and Green Photography and by our very own Ashley Hayward, is bursting at the seams with mid century wedding ideas for both retro and modern brides alike. The paint inspiration is carried through and through, from their paint-a-cupcake to their paint by number guest book – which is a doozy of a DIY project. Oh, and that good looking couple? They graced our site many moons ago on their wedding day.
From the photographer, Jenna of Red White and Green Photography: This shoot brings to life the harmony that was created in the 1950’s between tradition and modernism. It is overflowing with wedding ideas for the vintage-meets-modern-bride.
The midcentury modern movement was defined by incredible works of art and unique architecture, so the shoot incorporated some fun artistic elements beginning with a RSVP card that allows guests to draw the meaning of love… and ending with paint-your-own-cupcakes.
The bride and groom were styled with the 50’s sub-culture in mind. Instead of the classic Audrey Hepburn wedding look from the 1950’s, this bride and groom are showing off a look that is more reminiscent of the modern fashion and design that began creeping into culture in the middle of this era.

@Angela — the shoes are the bride’s own, which I believe she found at a vintage shop. She and her husband have a “costume box” at home filled with vintage goodies — so jealous!
