Intimate Summer Backyard Wedding in Pennsylvania

There’s something about an outdoor late spring/early summer wedding where the lighting is just SO good, the flowers seem extra fresh, and the smiles seem never-ending. Today’s wedding from Lauren Fair Photography has all the hallmarks of a good backyard summer wedding, with some extra stylish details and decoration thrown in for good measure.

From the bride, Heather: We wanted our wedding day to not only reflect who were as a couple but also set the tone to the marriage we were so excited to be journeying through together. We are a huge fan of both our families and are extremely family oriented so it only seemed fitting to have my Grandfather marry us! It was so special to have someone who has been such a huge part of my life be a part of one of the biggest days of our lives!

With that, we also really wanted to create the feel of a more intimate summer backyard garden wedding and Tyler Arboretum provided the perfect backdrop and ambiance to create this and their exclusive caterer Jeffery A. Miller turned our Burger Bar idea into a much more elegant idea that helped set the celebratory wedding tone we really hoped to achieve! We chose brighter, more sunshine type colors – corals, pinks, peaches – to help create a warm and welcome environment to help round out the idea and as a lover of gold and sequins we added a bit of glimmer where we could! We were lucky to have a family friend do our flowers and we really tried to have the flowers create the feel and theme of the day – which they definitely did!

We as a couple love to do things ourselves and really just have fun with anything and everything we do, so we really tried to put this into our day. Connell made the flower boxes and chalkboards that his mom so beautifully did the art for (she made our cake too!) and we chose our music based on our personalities! Our biggest take away from our day was to enjoy every moment because it really does fly by, but also make sure you both remember this is about the marriage to follow after this one day! Put yourselves into the day and it will definitely not disappoint!
