Intimate Garden Wedding in Indiana

It’s pretty easy to fall in love with beautiful venues, but Indiana’s Mustard Seed Gardens is pretty much on a level of its own. Emily and James recently wed here, and it was the perfect fit for their intimate garden affair! As wedding photographers themselves, they knew the importance of finding great vendors for their own day, and their choices of Austin Gros and ISIBEAL Studio couldn’t have been better.

From the bride, Emily: For James and me, we wanted our wedding to feel very intimate and relaxed. We are wedding photographers ourselves, so we attend weddings at least 25 times a year. We wanted something different, something our guests would love and always remember. We had a year and a half engagement, which was fantastic! We wanted to nail down the vendors first and foremost. That part was the easy part for us because we work with so many people in the area and knew who we adored and would love to have work alongside us for our own wedding day. We chose our venue, Mustard Seed Gardens, because it seemed to fit us perfectly. It went well with our idea of intimate and relaxed. There are many different spaces they have available to use, so each wedding there is always unique.

We wanted an all outdoors affair, so planned our ceremony to take place under their beautiful tree and the reception under this stunning canopy of lights they have. We knew for a long time who we wanted our photographer to be! We’ve always admired Austin’s work and knew his style of photography and his personality would make him the perfect match for us. We worked with A Classic Party rentals to switch from round tables to long, family style tables. It seemed to fit the feel we were going for and our wonderful florist, Autumn Keller of ISIBEAL Studio, came up with the most incredible plan for long tablescapes that would look so beautiful under a canopy of lights as the sun went down. She also threw out the idea of using a birch wood arbor covered in eucalyptus, greenery, and blooms. From the moment she mentioned that, I was sold. That was the moment I felt truly like a bride—my vision was coming to life and I was so excited! We had a great bar tending company, Crush and Brew, and we chose to go with food trucks for dinner. They were a huge hit and everyone enjoyed how unique their dining experience was!

Just five minutes before the ceremony was to begin, it was obvious that a large storm was heading our way. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to have the all-outdoors affair, dancing under twinkle lights after sundown, that we had hoped for. Everything was moved indoors. I always thought I would be so upset if that happened. On the wedding day, I didn’t mind one bit. Our wonderful team of vendors came together (Jessica Dum Wedding Coordination was outstanding!) and pulled it off inside the barn and James and I would be married either way. The weather didn’t matter. All the planning and the vision of an outdoor ceremony and reception were out the window, but the wedding was still on and we were thrilled either way. At the end of the day, the vibe and feel we were going for was achieved, guests had a blast, and we were married! It was such a great experience and we thank each and every vendor we had for making the day so wonderful for us!
