Industrial Romantic Philadelphia Wedding

Industrial Romantic Philadelphia Wedding

Taking inspiration from their own hometown, Adrienne and Ryan went for a whimsical, intimate setting with lots of Philly and industrial touches – all styled by Pastore Events and shot by BG Productions. Their planning was equally focused on the ceremony experience as it was on the reception decor. Adrienne’s dad was their officiant just a day before Father’s Day! The flowers were designed by their good friend from Rhoads Garden with a mix of white, peach and pink blooms.

From the bride, Adrienne: Ryan and I truly loved every minute of the wedding “process” and knowing how quickly it would pass, we knew that we wanted to be completely immersed in the planning and execution of every detail of the day. I am often told that I am nice blend of unconventional and classic and that is exactly the theme we were going for when planning the big day. Having looked at numerous destinations (just for fun) we knew in our hearts that our hometown of Philadelphia, were we live and fell in love, had to be the location of our wedding, and it was important that we made decisions that exemplified the charm and history of the city, as well as our greatest joys and memories. We are huge “family time” kind of people and made sure to incorporated our loved ones into numerous DIY projects, such as the escort cards, table numbers, wedding programs and venue decor, as well as choosing only businesses as well as the talents of very close friends (such as our invitations and flower) to be our vendors for day. We wanted every detail to be personal to us in some way.

For me, hands down, the greatest part of the entire day was our ceremony. We were married by my father, the day before Father’s Day, in a very intimate and emotional ceremony, that was offbeat in execution yet traditional in personal history and beliefs. It was all about the details and as my dad said it best, it was “an event.” The decision to exchange our vows in a Quaker Meeting House as opposed to our affiliated church was one that was not made lightly; but was clear from the start once my father, a local judge, agreed to perform the ceremony. With an intimate setting (our guest sat on multiple floors all around us) and free reign to craft the ceremony of my choosing, I was able to incorporate any and all elements of my choosing. From a “ring warming” ceremony by our bridal party, the pop tunes performances by a local acappella group, the custom tambourines for the guests, and the surprise Motown performance of “Crazy love” (which was a gift from my sister at the very end of the ceremony); our goal was to have the ceremony be the lasting impression of our day – and I think we nailed it!

Our reception was in a “raw” space, a converted warehouse facility that is now used for art installations and exhibits. It was a dream come true as it allowed me to have a creative outlet to design a reception that fit our style, personality and upbringing. We really embraced the industrial space and allowed the natural beauty or the room direct the decor. I knew I wanted to incorporate Edison lightbulbs and market lights into the room, but after trying to tackle the project on my own with no success, I decided it was best to hire a professional and I couldn’t be happier with what Eventions did. My flowers were arranged by the Rhoads Garden, a company owned by one of my bridesmaid and the spectacular chalk art was a piece I worked on with the wonderful Kate Farley of Kate Farley Designs. It was magical how it all came together and truly expressed our individuality. One thing you will hear by everyone you encounter, from the minute you get engaged until the end of your wedding weekend is “It goes by so quickly, so really enjoy every moment.” This is an understatement – it FLIES by at the speed of sound… and just feels like a wonderful dream that you long to live over and over again in photos and video.

  • Love the decor! Such a beautiful wedding. Any idea where they found the glass case they used as the card box? I am in LOVE with it.

  • The card case was a repurposed piece I had at my house from HOMEGoods. And then I used white glass paint for the signage.
