Green Mountain Ranch Wedding

When we caught wind that Logan Cole Photography had a wedding with a bride who embraced a “Tangled” theme, we jumped right on board. Bride Rebeccah placed daisies in her braided hair, adorned her ceremony and reception with lanterns galore, and walked down the aisle to the theme song. With a budget of only $10,000 and a timeline of three months to plan their wedding day, we’d say the couple pulled out some of their very own miracles!

first look idea

From the bride, Rebeccah: The biggest must for our wedding was to bring in the big loves in our lives, namely God. So we made sure to pray together before the ceremony (blindfolded), gave thanks to Jesus through partaking in first communion, and choosing a song for our first dance that would set God as the foundation for the rest of our marriage. As of late I have been obsessed with Disney’s Tangled, so I also wanted to subtly incorporate that into the day. This came through in our use of lanterns, my long braided hair, and playing the theme song for the movie as I walked down the aisle – my favorite touch of the whole day. Overall, we went for a more earthy, crafty, mountainous feel, but still keeping it sweet and simple.

Our colours were navy blue, moss green, and chocolate brown; with splashes of yellow. Some of the words that come to mind when I look back at our day are: nature inspired, creative, whimsical, and magical. Almost the whole wedding was a result of the craftiness of friends, family and myself. The fabric garlands around tables, the flower arrangements upon them, the moss covered cake stand, the signs, and the so much more were all DIY projects.

We didn’t have any say in the location. Both my fiance and the time and I were in Thailand. Because it was pressed for time (we planned our wedding in three months) we had to trust our parents to choose the place that was right for us. And they SO did! Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek, CA was the perfect location for our outdoor ceremony and reception.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Take some time to stop. If you forget about the reason for the wedding, you might as well be planning just another event. Weddings are special, because they are a celebration of the most timeless union on this earth today. Out of all the changes that have happened throughout history, marriage still remains a center of our society. So take a step back and glean from the beauty of this occasion. And if you didn’t listen to anything I said, listen to this: don’t neglect your relationship in this time! It is so important to give your fiance some lovin’… because he is the reason behind this whole mess of stress.

From the photographer, Logan: Rebeccah and Spencer have a pretty cool story. They first met while serving at their local homeless shelter then a little bit later got engaged on the back of an elephant in Thailand while on a mission trip together. They had a few things about their wedding that were a little different. They didn’t want to do a first look but wanted to spend time together before the wedding praying so they did a non-first look first look… Spencer was blindfolded. Spencer’s gifts to his groomsmen were puppets for no apparent reason other than he thought it was funny. They kinda had a nature/Tangled theme going hints Rebeccah’s hair. They had all their guest sign rocks as they came in.
