While we’re sharing the real wedding of Amie and Brad today, their shindig could also be known as the perfect marriage between bohemian and romantic style. Bluebell Events worked closely with the couple to tie in important details, like dreamcatchers above the ceremony space as a nod to Amie’s Native American heritage. The floral arrangements from Stems by Kate were airy with just the right pops of orange, and Dave Richards Photography worked magic behind the camera to capture everything!

From the bride, Amie: The style and feel I envisioned for my wedding didn’t really come to life until I saw it on my wedding day for the first time. In other words, I wasn’t sure how to describe it until it all came together. But I would say I wanted a melding of rustic romantic and boho with big emphasis on the romance, and I wanted it to all flow together organically, and without it being over-the-top. I think it went off perfectly! To this day friends and family comment on just how romantic that day was, even for them personally.

Adjectives to describe my wedding would be Rustic, boho-chic, wildly romantic, joyous, loving, natural, happy, fun, gorgeous, lovely. Our color palette used peach, blush, gold, ivory and soft pinks and greenery. I envisioned a very romantic, peachy palette, with no commitment to specific colors. We wanted everything to flow naturally, similarly to the way a natural bed of wildflowers grows, all mixed and wonderfully wild. We had champagne and blush Dahlias, blush and peach David Austin garden Roses, coral, peach, pink, and orange Ranunculus, lavender, white hydrangea, smaller roses, peach sea holly, olive leaf, eucalyptus, and various other greenery and flowers. We tied vintage lace around each bouquet and left them long so they would dangle down… I felt this tied in my lace dress…

Any advice for couples planning their own weddings now? Do everything that feels organic to you and only you. Do not do anything to impress family that isn’t something you truly want… Remember this is your day, not anyone else’s.

Wedding Music:
Wedding Party Processional: “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles),” Sleeping at Last
Bride’s Processional: “Crash Into Me,” Dave Matthews Band
Recessional: “I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever),” Stevie Wonder; “Friday I’m in Love,” The Cure
First Dance: “Love Song #1,” The White Buffalo
My man of honor later sang “In My Life,” by the Beatles. And the first song we asked all guests to dance to with us as a couple was “Into The Mystic” by Van Morrison. I could really go on and on about the music, because we literally (me mostly) handpicked every single song from start to finish.

From the wedding planner, Bluebell Events: Amie was a Radio DJ in college and after college, so music is INCREDIBLY important to her. She and Brad hand selected every single song at their wedding, from pre-ceremony to cocktail hour, reception and dancing. Amie spent months on the music selection. She and Brad have very different tastes in music, so it was important to them to tastefully meld the two of their tastes together to create the perfect playlist that represented them and their feelings about the biggest day of their lives!!! From Bob Marley, James Taylor, The Beatles, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, to Bob Dylan. Adele, Dave Matthews, Ray LaMontagne and Stevie Wonder, they really covered all the bases. They even had a CD of important love Songs from their wedding that resembled vinyl records as a wedding favor to all their guests. As a little girl, Amie grew up collecting skeleton keys and always had a dream catcher above her bed to help her sleep at night. Amie is Native American and always felt a deep connection to the dream catchers, and since they’re so popular and available now, she jumped at the chance to have them make an appearance on their special day. They flowed behind the couple at the altar, and Amie says it was as if the Gods were smiling down upon them catching their love and saving it for future rainy days.
