Elegant Rancho Mirando Wedding

This wedding has a bit of it all: sequins, gold animal figurines, lush floral arrangements, and one heck of a sweet ceremony. Day 7 Photography and Heavenly Day Events truly worked their magic on this one, folks, so let’s jump right in:

From the bride, Rachel: The wedding was just the most wonderful day that we could have imagined. We got to celebrate our love with our amazing friends and family, and being surrounded by all of that love was the most wonderful feeling in the world. From the time that we got engaged almost two years ago, we were dreaming and planning about this day, and there were so many projects that we did to make it truly special to us. Our favorite part of the day was by far the ceremony, and being able to say our vows to each other. While I was so pleased with how the decorations all came together and all of those little touches we planned worked out, the biggest compliment that we received by far was people telling us how much they liked the ceremony and how it was so “us”. We took a long, fun road to get to where we are today, and it made us so happy that we were able to convey our love and our personalities through our entire wedding day/weekend.

Our color scheme was primarily white and metallics. We mixed in a little blush and greens for variety. Our rhino logo we designed ourselves. Save the Date books were designed, created and hand sewn by us. Our invitation suite was designed and all of the pieces were hand letterpressed by us. Welcome bags, programs, confetti flickers, thank you notes, all of those were designed & DIYed by us. The big, lit letters that were used as the backdrop for our ceremony were made by Brian. The planter boxes with babies breath which lined the aisle were made by Brian & my dad. The table numbers were handmade. All of the floral arrangements on the tables were lovingly done by my amazing mom, aunts and cousins. I seriously have the best husband, because he did any project I asked him to do for the wedding, even the crafty ones!

The inspiration behind our wedding was to let our personalities shine through and make our wedding a reflection of us and of our relationship. Our relationship totally works because we are best friends, and we have fun together all the time, so we wanted to make sure that message was conveyed to everyone. We tried to incorporate our favorite things (rhinos, the zoo, books, our puppy, great food, great music), and we wanted our guests to have a wonderful time. I think one of our favorite unique touches was having the ornament guest book. The guests signed ornaments with messages to us, and we will put them up on our tree every year when we decorate on December 7th.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Have fun! This is a day that’s about the two of you, so make it that way. Have your favorite foods, listen to your favorite music, make your wedding a reflection of who you truly are. There’s so much pressure to plan the “perfect” wedding, to please everyone, to live up to the hype that you see on Pinterest. Please, pretty please, let all of that go! Honestly though, the most important piece of advice – remember why you’re doing all this planning. It’s so you can stand up in front of all of your favorite people in the world, and share your love. It’s so you can promise your partner that you’ll spend the rest of your life with them. Your wedding is important and amazing, just please don’t forget that it’s only the beginning of so many more amazing days to come!

  • This is the coolest! Love the light up initials, the amazing photography, the gold sparkly bridesmaid dresses, the super cuteness of the bride and groom AND of course, love the invites. Very fun! Thanks for sharing your day.

  • Thank you so much for featuring this wedding! Rachel and Brian are amazing people, and it was such a privilege to photograph them 🙂

  • So excited to see their story shared with the world. Thank you so much for featuring us today. Rachel’s advise to other brides is so spot on and I can tell you from working with brides every weekend, her attitude is what made her wedding so so beautiful. Especially in 20 something degree weather with nippy rain teasing us. She went with the flow and it was fabulous.

  • These invitations are amazing! Where/how did you design them? I’ve been looking all over for something comparable, but to no avail!
