The very same second we saw the floral chandelier in today’s wedding from Melia Lucida, Celebrate Events, and Celsia Floral, we knew we were in for something special. Ellie and Shervin’s wedding used floral design to its full potential, filling both the ceremony and the reception with the most awe-inspiring arrangements in neutral hues. We’d love to see more of these round ceremony spaces popping up in the future!
From Roxanne of Celebrate Events: Ellie and Shervin’s stunning ceremony was held in the Squamish Lil’Wat Cultural Centre’s Itsken Hall – a dynamic round room with wrap-around windows showcasing stunning views of the picturesque northerly mountain ranges. Ellie’s creative vision for this space was taken from a rustic, intimate barn wedding that she had seen on Pinterest. She particularly loved the use of floral covered chandeliers that elevated the space and wanted to recreate this look and feel at her own wedding.
Ellie was hands on when it came to the creative and commissioned Roxanne Cave from Celebrate Events to work closely with her on design and decor. Drawing inspiration from the relatively modest chandelier designs, Roxanne wanted to transform this and create a singular striking ceiling display that would capture the guests’ attention and take their breath away.
Roxanne got to work with Johanna and her team from Celsia Floral to bring this idea to life. Over a period of several months, they handcrafted a lush design incorporating sourced and foraged greenery, and white floral comprising a mixture of hydrangeas, garden roses, delphiniums, dendrobium, orchids and chrysanthemums. The end result was a spectacular floral centerpiece, 12’ in diameter, that perfectly complimented the charming and unique, yet understated venue space. The reception took place inside the Great Hall, with an abundance of candlelight, rustic wood harvest tables, and elements of gold to add an element of interest and elegance. Neutral tones of cream, ivory and white were incorporated into the tabletop designs and reception decor, with full flowing floral as well as accents of greenery to soften the look and keep it natural.
