We think everyone loves a great destination wedding, and so we’re off to Perth, Australia today to get a look at Alysha and Ricky’s trendy garden wedding. Captured by Katie Grant Photography, CD Weddings turned the outdoor location into an absolutely lovely paradise and to enhance the feel of it, Natural Art Flowers swept in with romantic centerpieces and the sweetest pink peonies that just pop out at you the moment you start rifling through the photos.
From the bride, Alysha: Our colour theme was based around drift wood, blush, gold and a touch of sage. Every little detail of the wedding was given individual attention and thought out, which meant a lot of time was put into personalizing every last detail. It was so important to us to have everything just so, ensuring it really reflected the two of us as a couple. Both Rick and I were so lucky to have met the vendors we did and have such talented people helping us create our dream Wedding. Phenomenal experience, one we are so grateful for and will forever be a beautiful lasting memory.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Enjoy and embrace every moment from the start being the whole planning process and to the very end being the moment you get back to your room from the Wedding. A lot of Brides I know see the planning stage as quite a stressful process, which yes at times it can be, but I think with the right team behind you and provided everything is meant to be, it should come together easily. Enjoy and embrace the journey and trust your instincts.

From the event designer, CD Weddings: Alysha and Ricky love all things nature. Alysha wanted garden roses incorporated into her wedding, so I called our theme “The rose garden by the forest.” When we designed the invitations, we wanted the guests to think they entered a rose garden through an old wooden gate. Ricky wanted a cigar station, so with the help of Alysha’s Mum who has a special talent in finding rare items, we had a fabulous area for the guys to chill out. Every guest found a rock on their place setting to sign and Alysha will later place them into a shadow box for keepsake. The rock also helped keeping the menu and napkin down as the wind was quite strong on that day! Every bridesmaid has a traditional posy, but with this wedding I suggested for them to be paired up to carry a heart, a garland and the flower girls both had a bow and arrow. This is a very close-knit family, so we had a special table set up in the middle of the tent for the whole family to sit on with a special hanging structure made out of robes, lanterns and flowers.
