DIY Monogrammed Pumpkins

Starting today I’ll be posting DIY entries sent from readers who are running to win a $200 gift certificate to Wedding Paper Divas. Voting will not start until all entries all published, so take your time to choose your favorite. Because I am running a little behind with other projects I have for the blog, I had to limit the number of entries to 25. It was extremely hard to pick only 25 out of 48 total entries, there are so many creative people!

To not overwhelm you with do-it-yourself project overload, I’ll posting two entries daily for about two weeks.

Ready?

Here is our first entry, sent by Jessica M. She created Artificial Monogrammed Pumpkins.

Monogrammed Pumpkins

What you’ll need:

  • two medium artificial pumpkins
  • one large artificial pumpkin
  • artificial pumpkin carving kit
  • straight pins
  • led light or fake tea light
  • carbon paper

Directions:

Step 1: Using MS Word, print out the design you want in the desired size.

Trace the design onto the best looking side of the pumpkin. In my case I used our monogram and used the J & F on medium pumpkins and a P on the larger one.

Step 2: Once your designs are outlined, you can begin cutting a hole into the bottom of each pumpkin. After that, begin cutting out the design with the carving kit. If there are any small pieces that need to be re-inserted after you’ve cut them out, set them aside.

Step 3: After your done with the main carving. You can re-insert the small pieces using straight pins. For example, I stuck a pin through part of the middle of the P and then stuck the pin in the main part of the pumpkin so it looks as if its not attached.

Much more to come!
