Colorful Manitoba Wedding

We’re so delighted to have this wedding from Simply Rosie Photography to share, given that it’s full of colorful and whimsical inspiration for all you couples and planners out there. Amanda Douglas Events hit a home-run designing this Canadian wedding with enough touches of orange, coral, and teal to perk up the dreariest day!

From the bride, Alyssa: We used our tag line a lot with “Better Together”, which is from our favourite Jack Johnson song. Our theme started with this because we both love having our independence (book club, volleyball, golf for me- he loves curling, hockey etc.) and we value this time apart, but we truly love doing things together and spending time with each other is better:)

We wanted our wedding day to feel like a big family gathering. We were looking for something that was rustic and that felt like everyone could relax and have a good time. The instant we saw pictures of Danceland we were set on that as a venue. We wanted to do a Manitoba Destination Wedding so that it would be like a big family reunion. We really wanted everyone to come, relax, and enjoy this beautiful place (Clear Lake). We loved the big wooden beams in this venue and our favourite part is the wood floor that is made with horse hair in it. This old floor was made for dancing and it was literally bouncing the night of our wedding!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Think of your wedding day as a relationship — pick your battles, enjoy the little things, and take in every minute of it! Try to choose your 2-3 things that are very important to you; whether it’s photography, decorations, music or whatever. Make those your priority and think of everything else as little details. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you get to marry the man of your dreams. Your commitment to each other in front of all your friends and family is truly the most important thing. Don’t get wrapped up in the “wrong purple” dilemma!
