Today we have a gorgeous travel themed wedding all the way from the Philippines! All photos by Nelwin Uy.
Love their idea of using a travel journal as a guestbook!
Her gorgeous wedding dress:
From the bride, Christine:
I am one of those brides who, does not know what I want for my gown, all I know is that I want it to look vintage but not too frou frou because I want to feel comfortable during the wedding day but still wanted to feel like a bride. My designer ( Larry D. Espinosa www.larrydespinosa.com.ph) did just that! I was really happy with the dress! The dress was made with yards and yards of french lace tea dyed to get that old vintage look, the train was not too long but what made it look unique was the french lace dyed in different degrees of tea dyeing to make it look like the color is going from light to dark, he did not put any beads either which made it look so clean and elegant, for that final touch the designer attached an old looking brouch at the back of the dress to complete it.
I wanted it to be beige or off white to go with my gown which was in different colors, I was suppose to have one custom made but found this pair from nine west, I love the beads infront it has alot of character it was perfect for the look I was going for, I was so happy with it who would have thought something so beautiful can come so cheap ;)
April is the start of the summer season here in the Philippines, we decided to get married this time because we both love to travel and what better season to do that but during the summer season. During the wedding preparation I was thinking of a theme to incorporate summer, my love for vintage things and our love for travel, so we came up with the theme “Old World Travel.” This means, anything to do with travel in the olden days and whichever era, old DC planes, galeons, hot air balloons, old oil lamps, old books etc. were present in our reception decors as well as in my wedding accessories.
More to come – stay tuned for part II!
